Spike Lee: ‘There Is a War on the Black Male’
The National Review's The Corner ^ | August 19, 2014 | Andrew Johnson

Filmmaker Spike Lee weighed in on the death of Michael Brown and said the “uprising” in Ferguson, Mo., is in response to years of racial tension and mistreatment towards the black community in the United States. “When people get to a point — to that tipping point — they can’t take it anymore,” Lee said on CNN on Tuesday, listing the tragedies involving Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Rodney King, and others.

While he seemed to disapprove of looting and burning property, Lee also said that he “just hope[s] that things will really blow up if people aren’t happy with the verdict of this upcoming trial.”

The deaths of Brown, Martin, Garner, and others are extreme examples of a growing trend in America, he continued.

“I just think there is a war on the black male, and it’s tearing the country apart, in my opinion,” Lee said. “It’s not just killing us — it’s educational system, it’s the prison system, it’s these young black men growing up with no hope. It’s systematic.”

Earlier in the interview, Lee also questioned the validity of the account of a friend of Officer Darren Wilson, who killed Brown, which was substantially more favorable to the officer than other witnesses’ accounts. Lee said the timing of the friend’s statement was orchestrated and said she’d been reading from a script.

Lee infamously involved himself in the media frenzy surrounding the 2012 Trayvon Martin case, at one point distributing to his hundreds of thousands of Twitter followers what he thought was the address to the house of Martin’s killer. (The address ended up belonging to an elderly Florida couple, who received a series of death threats in the subsequent months.)

If you refer to Zimmerman as “white” which I don’t. The cop was black, too, correct?

Race relations weren’t doing that badly until Mr. Obama happened to them. There’s nothing like an administration of radicals who’ll happily side with Black Panthers over law-abiding voters to lend an uncomfortable edge to how people get along. It’d be the same if a brunette took the presidency and started supporting brown hair supremacy groups. Blondes would start looking at people with brown hair suspiciously, wondering if they supported the policies, too.

Actually, considering black-white race relations were by far the most centrally engineered and intentionally worked on by government, they were AMAZINGLY good. Notice that the groups that are generally successful and increasingly grouped in with “white”... Italians, Irish, and increasingly, Asians... are the groups the federal government more or less ignored, if it didn’t openly discriminate. They worked their way up. Faced with a lot to prove (or disprove), a few among them found a way to excel, and in turn lifted everyone up.

Blacks, and to a lesser extent, Hispanics too, were never really given that chance. Instead the government outlawed discriminating against them. It’s understandable, in the circumstances. It seemed like a NICE thing to do. Was it the RIGHT thing to do? I don’t know. But we still, at the price of pop culture getting really, really stupid through the 80s and 90s, emerged from the relative turbulence of the 70s into a world where it seemed people were figuring it out. We still had to deal with a lot of PC and affirmative action social engineering, but since a lot of the black culture people were focusing on was illegal and underground, we managed to kind of edge, crabwise, past that fact. It really looked to me like we were on the mend.

What the country DIDN’T need was a bunch of meddling racists in the government treating melanin concentration like it was a side in partisan politics.

It also would have been a bonus if our first black president hadn’t been a bumbling incompetent Euro-weenie with a tan. Secretary Kerry is basically a bumbling incompetent Euro-weenie, too. Do voters think the John Kerry presidency would have sucked ONLY because he can’t tan without looking like he’s a man-pumpkin? My consistent impression of Mr. Obama is that he’s the black president the white supremacists would have voted for, to prove a point.

It sure isn’t coming from white women . Last time I was in the States ,after a 5 year hiatus , I neve saw so many interracial couples 90% black male / white woman . Looked more to me like there was a war on white men coming from white women .

Hey Spikey, if there was a war on black men as you say, you would be dead by now.

The whole of Asia would be my catalogue, from 18 to 45, were I single. And they REALLY prefer white over black in 98% of the cases.

Yep, it’s like calling the Bushes, Nixon or Reagan fascists. If they truly were that way, you’d be able to speak against them once, and then you’d disappear.

the government policies towards blacks were never implemented to genuinely help them. the democrats who created those policies did so to enslave them to the democrats and their dependency policies they said would make them independent and help them. the dems knew it would destroy the black family and pit black men against black women, and also increase abortion rates of black women. that is what they really wanted.

Of course they would make the rampant apes sympathetic figures, just like Noah was an environmentalist.

Spike is right. There is a war against the black man, and it is being waged by other black men. They love to kill one another. That is not to say they don’t love to kill everyone else, but they are essentially tribal and predators within their own sphere of power.

Whites have mostly stood back and watched the carnage with no small degree of amazement and sadness, but there is nothing we can do to stop it. Blacks give passing mention of blacks killed by blacks, but they don’t care, so long as it doesn’t get in the way of grievance politics and painting white man as the aggressor.

I was in England in 1983, while in the USAF. I thought 99% of black men had white women. I don't really care that much, because my wife is a Filipina, I am just telling about what I saw.
