From nearly 1,000 miles away, several Redskins players used the Monday Night Football stage to draw attention to the situation that has been unfolding in Ferguson, Missouri by running onto FedExField with their hands up in the air.

How many black NFL owners are there? Just sayin'.
I saw some talking-head on Fox say that young black men were tired of being treated like second-class citizens. Maybe they should stop acting like it and see what happens.
I grew up 7 miles from RFK. I was there the Monday night Art Monk set the receptions record. I remember Otto Graham, George Allen, Sonny or Billy, in other words the glory days. I don’t recognize the Redskins anymore. It’s one thing to stick with the team thru the losing seasons, but this...I’m done. The team shows support for “What’s happening in Missouri”. Would that be the looting? The destruction of the livelihood of people who just wanted to own a business and try to make a life for their families? “Hell with the Redskins...No victories....Looters on the warpath....Now, we’ll burn D.C.”
Had a next door neighbor for a while who played defensive line for the 49er’s. I have never met a more on fire Christian willing to put everything on the line to win people to Christ. They are not all thugs...
We just want to show our supporters whats going on in St. Louis, Meriweather said. We just wanted to show support.
That could have been any one of us, said free safety Ryan Clark. That could have been any one of our brothers, our cousins When you get an opportunity to make a statement, and be more than a football player, its good.

Screw the Redskins. I can’t believe they did that! Time for a boycott.
I figured they were raising their arms when they saw all the high draft picks the Rams robbed them of for the RG III draft slot.
You’ve got to be kidding me.
Did they also have stolen cigars in their hands?
Agreed. But it seems to be that the NFL Management doesn’t want people to know that.
The autopsy didn't prove that he had his hands up, or that he didn't have his hands up. It would be exceptionally difficult (read: impossible) to show the positioning of his body based simply on the location of entry & exit wounds. The real world is not quite as simple as, say, CSI.
They have now lost my support to retain their team name I hope the new name is the racists, or the knee jerks, or the pansies..... I could go on but you get the idea
Look! I washed for supper!
Keeping the lie alive.
Support the management’s right to keep the name. The players mean squat. I’m sure Daniel Snyder didn’t tell them to do that.
Thats because it includes moral pieces of garbage like Elway here in Denver....
To even things out, why didn’t other redskin morons (dressed in police uniforms) run onto the field with guns shooting the others as they stole cigars and bull-rushed them?
Can’t fix stupid.
Maybe the fact there are no black owners has something to do with considerations other than race - like wealth and desire to own a team.
How many white truck drivers and plumbers own NFL teams?
How many times have you heard of a black being refused ownership of a team because of skin color?
I recall that Rush Limbaugh was turned away as a partial owner because of his conservative politics.
Just sayin'
Agreed. But I’m sure that would be the retort if you pointed out the lack of white players in the NFL.
