How many shots were fired at Bundy ranch? How many Molotov cocktails thrown? How many people injured (other than those tasered by the feds)? How many stores looted? How many stores burned to the ground? How many nights of mob rioting followed? How much violence was perpetrated by citizens exercising their constitutional rights?

The Bundy protestors went on a violent days long rampage. They looted and burned all the local feedstores and grain elevators.

The author was expounding upon his / her ignorance. Had the shopkeeper shot & killed this thug there might be a 2nd amendment angle and a cause to celebrate. Citizens shooting rioters would be a plus as well.

If you write for Salon, you believer the following:
1) Bundy was white and he had a gun, and he was joined by other whites with guns, hence Bundy was bad because the government is only trying to help;
2) Blacks in Ferguson are oppressed victims of vicious white occupiers who behave like saints in the face of daily injustices that would try the patience of Job. Their protests are only peaceful, and while government is almost always good there are some rare situations like this one where government means not a federally funded diversity seminar but that white people can be on the police force, and that's bad.
I thought the same thing. I make it a point to read crap like this to make sure we understand our enemies. Trouble is, it is getting harder by the day to find one that is literate.
Washington Invaded Nevada in a grossly disproportional overreaction that seemed almost designed to inspire a land revolt, over an issue that has been building in the western states for 40+ years.
They could have just arrested Cliven Bundy with a few officers, but instead they stole his cattle and bring in an army to occupy his land. That was either an act of political corruption for the benefit of Harry Reid’s business partners or it was simply being stupid and belligerent.
Ferguson’s conflict was presumably local mob riled up on the presumable account of some claim of injustice, yet to even be tried or investigated. This stands in stark contrast with the Cliven Bundy case where the federal employees in black robes already sided with their employer, thus from Bundy’s and many western’s perspective there was no more justice to be had at the uneven hand of the fed’s own employees. They had already made their unfair and unjust choice.
Honestly i think the Mob in Ferguson were only interested in the chance to loot and pillage lawlessly as the dead kid had apparently tried to do, before being stopped by the cop, and rightly or wrongly killed while resisting arrest.
You must have missed all the rioting and looting during
the “Bundy” incident. Don’t blame you for being confused.
