A former Detroit cop who lives in my little town says he drew his service weapon on multiple occasions but never fired it away from the range in some 11 years on the force.

That’s probably true of most cops, in most places.

at the 2.55 mark. Then “unarmed black kid” assault the police officer who has a gun pointed at him. What do you expect the police to do? The police has so little time to react with a strong chance the attacker could steal his gun

When we had a local police department, I doubt any of them ever pulled their weapons for anything more than putting down a deer hit by a car.

Hollywood rarely, if ever, shows officers shooting dogs. It would make them look like cowards.

They do a nice job of explaining how an attacker could easily be shot in the back, and it is perfectly understandable and legitimate. He falls through the field of fire.

Which in the MO case doesn’t seem to apply, but I found it interesting that most seemed to think that if he had been shot in the back, that would prove he was murdered by the cop.

Folks watch too much TV.

There is a trope for that, “reality is unrealistic”.

yea, I recall reading about how a person was shot 16 times by multiple police officers and I thought, woah thats excessive force by police but now I see how it could happen. 4 officers could easily shot 4 times each in 1 sec
