The results of a private autopsy on Michael Brown may escalate tensions in Ferguson, Missouri even further: The examiner says the unarmed teenager was shot at least six times, including twice in the head, and all the bullets came from the front, reports the New York Times. Pathologist Michael Baden, New York City's former chief medical examiner, says all the bullets were fired from at least one or two feet away, and one bulletapparently the last one firedhit the top of the 18-year-old's head.

It’s been reported that one of Brown’s last FB posts suggested that he planned on being a martyr for some bigger cause that day. If so, he could very well have been literally ASKING to be killed.
Heres a little background that I posted on another thread, referring to one of Browns last FB posts, where he made a comment implying that he was going to be a martyr for a cause:
Heres that article: http://freerepublic.com/%5Ehttp://clashdaily.com/2014/08/michael-brown-case-suddenly-blows-wide-open-likely-slam-dunk-favor-police/
And heres the FB quote:
If I leave this earth today, at least youll know I care about others more than I cared about my damn self.
Heres another link that had information/comments from his FB when it was till viewable: http://charlestonthuglife.net/2014/08/14/what-a-sham/ Sounds like his friends were big on the violence stuff as a way to honor his death.
This is the FB link but you have to be a friend to see the comments now: https://www.facebook.com/Mikestlboii
Heres a link with a looter saying something about the revolution. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-08-11/ferguson-stlouis-violence-continues-protesters-warn-revolution-wont-be-televised
Cawws comment about what all was going on (found at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3193375/posts?page=130#130 I have no idea what the Anabaptist comment is about. Can you clarify that, caww?): An alert was put out early on that the Black Panthers were there and the leader was inciting violence. Also the Anabaptists had their thing going on with starting fires the Anonymous people were trying to put out. If these characters havent gone home theyll continue to use this for their own purposes to incite trouble and draw attention....meanwhile the family will continue to solicit for funds along with their attorney and his Pr machine.
I wish they would publish this information. Inquiring minds want to know.
My take:
First line of the NYT article,
“Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager who was killed by a police officer”
Nice sensational leading sentence there.
Then:
“In my capacity as the forensic examiner for the New York State Police, I would say, Youre not supposed to shoot so many times, said Dr. Baden”
Really? If a guy is charging you (assuming here) and the first four don’t stop him (four in the arm, two in the head), what do you do? Warn him again?
And finally:
“No matter what conclusions can be drawn from Dr. Badens work, Mr. Browns death remains marked by shifting and contradictory accounts more than a week after it occurred”
From this very article; “A spokesman for the Ferguson Police Department, Tim Zoll, said the police had not seen a report of the autopsy and therefore had no comment on it.”
And; “The county of St. Louis has conducted an autopsy, and the results have not yet been released.”
So far the Police and the County haven’t given their ‘accounts’ yet so who’s accounts are “shifting and contradictory”?
The headline in any news story concerning this info should be “Brown was not shot from behind”
Of course, that info is paragraphs down with a headline of “Shot 6 times”
*
Angle of entry is going to be very important here. Of course, as we all know, when you’re out to execute someone, several shots to the arm is the way to start.
Yes..he was trying to avoid killing him.
“(All shots fired from one to two feet away!)”
What a bogus headline!
I’m in California. I was at least one to two feet away.
If I leave this earth today, at least youll know I care about others more than I cared about my damn self.

I believe far to much is being read into this line.
Sounds like more of a line from a poem or such or even a ‘rap song’ than the ramblings of a teen ager - Black or White.
I am sure that someone can go back through ALL the postings of us on here and with good, select, editing - can come up with outlandish statements - if taken way out of context or omitting lead in and finish up lines.
When I first saw it, I was reminded of the ‘old prayer’ that children used - “If I die before I wake...etc...” is more of a catch all than figuring you were going to do before dawn.
Like the kid (eye witness??/Accomplice) and his ‘eloquent story’ of the shooting.... When the SHTF, the kid was quick to not only change HIS story, but throw ALL the blame on the ‘dead partner’.... That is definitely CYA 101 - blame the dead guy.
Kind of like Judge Judy questioning the ‘victim’ of a car keying...
“what did she say”
“I am going to scratch your paint and cost you money”
JJ “No, she didn’t say that - WHAT DID SHE SAY”
“I am going to F-— you ride up”.
“Thank you”....etc...etc

At least 1 to 2 feet away is not the same as no more than 1 to 2 feet away.
I think we’re picking the fly sh!t out of the pepper ......
I doubt that four 9mm bullet strikes to the arm of a charging 300 pound guy -- just running on his natural adrenalin -- would stop him immediately.
The head shots were the ones that likely stopped Brown.
Notwithstanding what the "expert" Dr. Baden said, I think the general idea is to neutralize the threat, and that requires that one keep firing until the threat is neutralized (or one runs out of ammunition). If Brown was still running towards Wilson and he believed that he was threatened, the correct response would have been for Wilson to keep firing. He would have had no idea if his shots hit his target or not.
The record should show where Brown ended up, and they should know where the spent cartridges ended up, so determining the approximate positions of both Officer Wilson and Mr. Brown shouldn't be awfully difficult.
I’d like to see the context.
I did a search of the quote before Aug 8, 2014 and -Brown. No results. If it was a poem it didn’t show up online until Brown put it on FB.
There is no doubt that Brown either thought he could survive a run on an armed police officer, or made a suicidal run on an armed police officer.
The kid ran away, changed his mind, and went back. I don’t know how drugs work. Would a drug turn him around to charge at an armed police officer?
It appears that Brown was involved with at least one if not two gangs. I wonder if those gang members were Black Panthers as well. From the outset the Black Panthers were set on using Brown’s death for violent purposes. And so were Brown’s friends, from one of the articles I linked to. They seemed to think that violence would honor Brown’s death - the total opposite of what his parents said.
***All shots fired from the front.***
There are some posters at DU who are trying all sorts of mental gymnastics to figure how those shots fired into the back of the suspect hit him in the front.
So there were 4 shots in the arm before the 2 shots to the head that killed him? And one of the shots to his head went in his eye, through his face, and came back in at the jaw, and the other went into the top of his head indicating that his head was down?
If so, then it seems like 4 of the shots might have been to stop him and the head shots were fired when it was clear he wasn’t going to stop.
and then lies become the truth ... happens all the time on the street and in the lame-stream and please don’t ask about what politicians do.
The article talks about video footage and the live tweets. When did the false story about him being shot in the back get started? At least one person who saw what happened told another person there that Brown had turned around and made a run at the police officer. So the truth was being told by at least one witness in the immediate aftermath. So who were the people who were propagating the lie immediately, and recording only the people who were acting as if the lie was the truth?
Don’t know Butter. Maybe only one witness told the truth?
I think the conclusion, “1 to 2 feet away” is a lot different from “at least 1 to 2 feet away,” which could mean 100 feet.
The mistake was mine, not Newser’s.
