FERGUSON, Mo. — Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager who was killed by a police officer, sparking protests around the nation, was shot at least six times, including twice in the head, a preliminary private autopsy performed on Sunday found.
One of the bullets entered the top of Mr. Brown’s skull, suggesting his head was bent forward when it struck him and caused a fatal injury, according to Dr. Michael M. Baden, the former chief medical examiner for the City of New York, who flew to Missouri on Sunday at the family’s request to conduct the separate autopsy. It was likely the last of bullets to hit him, he said.
Mr. Brown, 18, was also shot four times in the right arm, he said, adding that all the bullets were fired into his front.

Mr. Johnson said that he hid behind a parked car and that Mr. Brown was struck by a bullet in his back as he ran away, an account that Dr. Baden’s autopsy appears to contradict.

Me thinks they used those cigars they stole to make a “blunt” with spice. Weed doesn’t typically make you think you’re bullet proof. I have heard that spice makes people do crazy shit, like charging a cop whose got a gun pointed at you.
I’ve been withholding judgement on this because quite frankly, I don’t trust either side. But I want to see a toxicology report. The cops version seems to be the one adding up at this point.

To all who commented on my “troubling” post:
All of the scenarios you describe are possible. However, using Occam’s Razor, the simplest explanation for a shot to the TOP of the head is that the victim’s head was below the plane of the shooter’s weapon. And the most plausible reason for that is that the victim was lying or kneeling while the shooter was standing.
As I was careful to point out, that is not in itself inculpatory; there may be a legitimate explanation that leaves the shooter free and clear. But you can bet the press and the prosecutors (if it comes to that) will have a field day with it. It reeks of an execution, or at least that will be the theme. Heck, it already IS.
And multiple bullet wounds to his right arm that are totally inconsistent with being shot with his arms over his head, trying to surrender.
Considering that Johnson has already given defense counsel sufficient evidence for his impeachment as a witness, I doubt he will be called to testify.
The one in the top of the head really says it all though. The guy was charging like a football player, head down.
Or like an enraged bull.

Based on the location of the wounds it can be argued that the officer was attempting to wound and stop the assault rather than kill.
Indeed. It would seem that he was not aiming at the center mass. If that were a target instead of an autopsy form, it would indicate exactly that.

If he was 35 feet away from the officer, and charging him at just 15MPH, then the officer was just 1.6 seconds away from having Brown on top of him when he fired.
Mine is the little 4” bbl. S&W model 19. Bill Jordan’s idea to beef up the K frame but I carry a .380 Mustang colt as at my age carrying anything heavier makes me list.

Not really. Finally falling forward from the prior shots would account for it. All while still charging forward.

Most likely since he was also shot in the face, this was as he was falling down.

That is, the giant took the rounds in the arm and shoulder and kept on with the assault. The tox report will show he was high on something really bad
This recounting of events correlates precisely with the wound pattern.
I heard on the radio this morning that the police force there uses 7mm, they have been asking for 9mms, but haven’t as of yet been approved.
This is why it took so many shots to take down a 6’4 292 or so pound man.
Target shooting at the range isn't quite the same as being beaten in the face, and then given just a couple of seconds to acquire and hit a moving target.
