NY Times ^ | 8-15-2014 | Unknown

State and local police departments obtain some of their military-style equipment through a free Defense Department program created in the early 1990s. ..... detailed data from the Pentagon illustrates how ubiquitous such equipment has become. Highlighted counties have received guns, grenade launchers, vehicles, night vision or body armor through the program since 2006.

I believe there is an ulterior motive here. Little Podunk towns have church going, conservative Americans. Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, NYC don’t. So why the heavy artillery in Bumphuque Maine?

I am willing to bet if we could research gun ownership records, the records that are not supposed to exist, we will find those military style vehicles have been Pre-positioned to put down any uprisings once the left try to implement their egalitarian paradise.

Call it Occam’s Razor for their is no other logical reason for it.

How about we declare War On Government™ as it could be done simply by enforcing a few laws against things government does too well:

Call it War On:

Fabricating needless law
Graft
Bribery
Political Nepotism
Political Cronyism

Also, upon filing to run for office one must file a full and complete list of ALL assets, down to the last dime.

You will be audited yearly--no exceptions. Any and all funds above your pay grade will be forfeited upon discovery, No exceptions.
Failure to comply or conviction of one of the above charges will result in expulsion and loss of ALL assets.
No more getting elected, going to DC and becoming rich from backroom deals, bribery and payola.
People in government are elected to run the Nation, not use their positions to enrich themselves and their families.

Our treasury is being systematically looted, and the old wise leaders did say that was the last act of any corrupt government. If America took back every dime from all the sticky-fingered scumbags infesting our Government we could, theoretically, have one hell of a party [and I don't mean political].

I did not consider that, you could be correct.

The so called “assault weapons” map is chilling.

Tell me about it, 4 mrap, 100+ M16’s, etc. Our largest ‘city’ has 30,000 people, county has 120,000 total. Why all the toys? One M16 per 1000 people? Why, because they’re offered they should be accepted? Sounds like welfare to me!

A year or so ago, I recall an article about the military dumping $billions worth of armaments and equipment into the Indian Ocean, because they didn’t consider it worth the cost of transporting elsewhere for use.

Apparently, massive amounts were also left in Iraq. Now, ISIS/ISIL had control of a lot of that, including some stockpiles of Saddam Hussein’s WMDs.

Combatting terrorism and state sponsored terrorism is about like playing Wack-a-mole. One rears up and causes mayhem for a decade or more and is taken down. Another — usually even worse — rises up to replace that one.

Even more scary is wondering how many of those bent on mayham have infiltrated into the US through the porus borders.

I see them in my county too and we’re a fairly rural Republican county in a very blue state.

According to the map, Honolulu Poleeece now have three MRAPS. Be interesting if any of the guys living there has heard about that or the police chief’s rationale for why they need armored vehicles. The Marines and army already have a nice stash of their own on the island.

It would save A LOT of time and money if they would just wait for whoever their target is to go out for groceries or something. I suppose that doesn’t sound as exciting in the local newspaper....

Or, in an alternate universe, where the Constitution still meant something, they might just show up on the doorstep with a warrant supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Wouldn't that be better?
