Can the AG’s office initiate an investigation of the Travis County DA and her office? Is there legal basis?

I was discussing this today with a friend of mine who is a TX prosecutor.
We are in agreement that this Public Integrity Unit needs to be under the authority if the TX Attorney General.
That way there is accountability at the statewide level.
I’m not sure yet, but I think the legislature can reorganize this Unit so these political prosecutions can be avoided in the future.
