President Barack Obama really wanted to take a vacation. But then the world intervened.
The presidents plan to snag two weeks off in Marthas Vineyard has been an utter failure, marking his worst attempt at relaxation since the Detroit underwear bomber consumed his 2009 Christmas holiday in Hawaii.
On the eve of his departure late last week, Obama authorized airstrikes in Iraq to beat back Islamist militants from committing genocide. Then as he wrapped up his first round of golf on the Massachusetts island Saturday night, The Atlantic interview with Hillary Clinton hit the Web, sparking days of speculation about the fraying Clinton-Obama relationship.
The White House thought it might get beyond the frenzy du jour on Wednesday night when it released much-anticipated details of their interaction at a birthday party they toasted the guest of honor and even sat close to each other!
But by midnight, as protests over a fatal police shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, spun out of control, a White House spokesman posted on Twitter that Obama had been briefed on the situation. And early Thursday afternoon, Obama was back in front of the cameras, delivering his fourth statement on chaotic world events since his vacation began.

His MISSION ACCOMPLISHED moment.
The working half of America hasn’t had a vacation in 5 years, so la de da!
It’s such a shame. We really should send him on a 2 year vacation to make up for it.
He will never resign, matter of fact it wouldn’t surprise me if he seeks a 3rd term using FDR as an example.
I wonder how old Carrie is, that she has not yet learned that life intrudes on everyone’s plans, including vacations now and then?
Then Carrie, and Obama need to learn this Amish proverb:
“To do nothing is tiresome. One can never stop and take a break.”
That’s the thing. This Obama KoolAid drinking author didn’t realize that she/he gave the impression (or maybe the stark truth) -
THAT A JayVee TEAM IS IN CHARGE
(while “Obama AND his staff having these precious few breaks”)
No kidding! I understand the sycophant mentality these pathetic presstitutes wallow in as much as I understand any mental illness, but the blatant and total disregard for even the most basic truths goes so far beyond “illness” that you have to believe they have gone totally insane.
“Precious few breaks”?! Obscene.
So true - I haven’t had a full week off in two years. I feel so sorry for the President.
It's a shame that none of us can appreciate getting away with the family on vacation - if only we had the empathy of this writer and the resources to live beyond luxury on the taxpayer's dime......if only.....
Signed
Documentation File for the 2014 Impeachment of B. Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro a former Foreign Student from Indonesia, and still a legal Citizen of the Sovereign Nation of Indonesia.
He’s coming back on Sunday to announce a SCOTUS retirement and the nomination of Holder to the court...just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse. (Dana Perino’s theory, I take no credit for it.)
LOL!!!
Give him two billion to go live in Rancho whatever. California would be a great place for him and two billion would be a great “investment” by the American people!
Poor Barry can’t get a break. /s
Yes, we do, when it is over and over and over again, extremely expensive, on our dime, and when the world is in turmoil.
The Moon Bats are busily defending Obama, and keep spewing how Bush took a lot more “vacations” than Obama.
What they leave out, of course, is when Bush wasn't working, he called it a vacation. When Obama flies out to the Coast for a fundraiser, “Well that's work, see, and he's not lazy like that LIAR Bush, what with his illegal invasion of peaceful Iraq, lies about WMD, and other war crimes.”
Question for the moonbats: If Bush was so evil, when did he have TIME to take a vacation? What with all his plotting, taking orders from Darth Cheney as they personally waterboarded terrorists millitants at Guantanamo Bay.
BTW, Obama has gone on over 400 separate fund-raising trips in the past 6 years, some lasting weeks. But that's work; not a vacation.
