NBC will name Chuck Todd the new host of "Meet the Press" as soon as Thursday afternoon, according to people with direct knowledge of the network's plans.
The sources confirmed widespread speculation that David Gregory, who moderated the show for the past six years, will be replaced by Todd, and is expected to leave NBC.
The people spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment on the record. One said that the transition will be swift -- so swift that Gregory will not even host "Meet the Press" this weekend.

Imus?
Scarborough?
Both?
Replace one Liberal with another.
“Imus?
Scarborough?
Both?”
My bad. I was referring to Imus. But “Both” is the correct answer.
“Deck chairs...Titanic...predictable results”
Exactly what I was thinking. Like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. If they wanted some real positive change they should put someone like Sara Palin in that spor.
yep - I knew that ..you’re right on all counts too!
This amounts to ZERO change.
If they want the show to get ratings, hire Shannon Breen or one of the other talented women over at FOX. What they need is a change of perspective (away fro liberal bias), not a change of suits.
I think it’s a setup for Todd to fail and then be replaced by Joe and Mika after the midterms.
Last time I saw Meet The Press ,David Brinkley was the talking head
Two sides of the same coin. Not sure which is worse. Todd seems a bit more likable but he’s got the same belief system and agenda.
Can’t feel bad for gregory though. He was probably the biggest horse’s ass to GWB among the White House press pool.
There was a time when I used to watch those silly Sunday shows religiously. But at some point in the mid-1990s, I decided they were just a waste of time.
HAHAHA!
You know, he is not the best teleprompter reader I hear.
Bit of a pompous blowhard.
But yeah, I might watch at least once just for sh!ts and giggles :D
Chuck Todd? lol
Good. Now, DC - charge him with the felony possession of high-cap magazines. He committed the crime on national TV and he doesn’t have media lawyers to back him any more.
Probably the last time it was worth watching as well.
David Brinkley never hosted Meet the Press.
He ended up over on ABC's Sunday morning show and he WAS pretty damn good at it, as you say.
What’s the difference.?
I predicted as much some time ago. F.Chuck is an NBC lackey and will do as told by anyone above his position.
