France has seen an explosion in the number of households requesting a deferral or cancellation of part or all of their tax bill in recent years.
The countrys public finance body, the DGFiP, says there was a 22% rise in the number of such requests between 2011 and 2013, from around 177,000 to more than 216,000.
Over the same period, the number of reminders for payment sent out by the French government has soared from 4.5 million to nearly 10 million.

“And this next year you are going to see the same happen in America and Obama and the IRS are going to have a complete meltdown...”
What does it say when you can pay your taxes with a credit card here in the US? I find that ominous...
Dont know what they were thinking would happen if they voted for the socialists.
That “real world” will be the fact that most average citizens will no longer be able to afford the homes they own due to the large property tax bill due each year. Worse yet, if the home is not paid for, through in the mortgage payment and the yearly maintenance expenses.
All the while, parasites on the public dole have to fear nothing.

The sad fact is that you will NEVER own property....the government does and you have to pay forever for it in the way of taxes.
That awkward moment when you realize that you’re actually on the paying side of the redistributionist schemes you’ve supported all these years.
Ironic since I know some french who think paying taxes to support everyone is “noble”.
I throw Rush Limbaugh’s conservative philosophy at them: You socialists are terrible because you measure compassion by how many people need your money. We conservatives measure compassion by how many people don’t.
I had one frog tell me he pays enough taxes to support 20 families. I replied we ensure those 20 families can make it on their own.
Liberals are co-dependent narcissists: They both need everyone else and they need to be needed. Very childish idiots.
If you think the free nanny state is bad here then go to France. Mr. GG2’s daughter is married to a Frenchman and they live in France with their small children. Everything is paid for from cradle to grave for those kids. When you go into the hospital to have a baby its 5 days but if you don’t quite feel up to going home you can just extend it to 7 days. Nice Huh?
You’ve once again inspired my gratitude to my great-grandfather for leaving that silly country.
