Fixed it.
After I came back from the first Gulf War....about a year later, I had to get a TB test for processing out of my unit in the states to Germany. I came up positive. From my memory of the four months I spent in Saudi...we ate at a facility run by Filipino contracted cooks....who continually coughed. I remember a joke made by an associate one afternoon....centered on our hosts all having TB. Well....months later, I realized that was probably the connection to my TB episode.
I suspect there’s probably 400,000 people walking around the nation with TB and don’t know about it until it’s extremely active.
TB spreads through the air. I think the point of the article is that people with AIDS have little or no immunity. A sneeze, that a healthy person’s immune system could fight off, could kill someone with AIDS.
(Whatever you don’t want to think about could be a factor too.)
