Hillary antagonizing liberals and conservatives with foreign-policy shifts?

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. Sir Walter Scott’s warning on the complications of dishonesty seems to apply to the recent travails of Hillary Clinton, who has spent the past week or so attempting to distance herself from the disaster of Barack Obama’s foreign policy. That’s a neat trick for someone who served as Secretary of State for four of the five-plus years of the Obama administration, and the White House and its supporters have already lashed out about it, if indirectly.

How is the project working? So far, conservatives aren’t buying the switch, CBS News concludes:

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s recent critique of the Obama administration’s foreign policy, seemingly in preparation for a 2016 presidential run, has some pundits on the right crying foul.

By criticizing President Obama’s handling of foreign affairs, Clinton is attempting to distinguish Mr. Obama’s view of America’s role in the world from her own. Conservatives, however, are questioning how much Mr. Obama’s former top diplomat can truly distance herself from the administration. …

“If she wants to achieve separation, she will have to answer some tough questions in the period ahead, such as: how hard did she really fight for arming and training the Free Syrian Army?” [Washington Post columnist Marc] Thiessen wrote. “Did she threaten to resign? What specifically did she advocate doing to help the opposition? Did she advocate air strikes against ISIS? And – most importantly – did she oppose Obama’s complete withdrawal from Iraq, which also ‘left a big vacuum, which the jihadists have now filled’?”

Clinton has now irrevocably separated herself from Obama. Its a nasty split and may backfire on her. She is trying to position herself as the Democratic savior after the 2014 election. She will argue that she and she alone can retain the Presidency and recapture the Senate. If Obama does not counter his last two years will not only be difficult but torturous. The dirt will soon start flying. Elizabeth Warren may be the big beneficiary.

Meanwhile, the evidence of diminished mental capacity of Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, continues to mount. Not merely a matter of being unable to keep lies straight, Herself descends from time to time into a true mental fog, perhaps a result of the brain damage suffered in the fall in December 2012. Or maybe it was just the years of alcohol abuse.

Herself is a sickly old woman, who in a less prominent position, would have been recommended for ambulatory custodial care in an assisted living facility.

I think Hillary realizes in a 2016 Democrat primary war against the Chicago Mob, she loses just like in 2008.

So the plan is to run her own “Op Chaos” and bid for Republicans to vote for her in the D primary.

She says she knew that ISIS was a problem greater than Obama did. But where is the evidence in her performance as Secretary of State or in her biography? If she had that bone to pick with Obama, don’t people think she’d have put it in the book to create some buzz for the sales? This is all Clintonian situational triangulation.

Much truth in what you say. She by definition is in decline but her political instincts were never as sharp as her crafty husband. Also the fact that the press has never held her accountable or hounded her the way they would a Republican has never forced her to sharpen her skills or deal with reality. The big bomb that the Obama people can release is proof of her homosexuality. But that would be akin to using a nuclear weapon. Sure the Clintons have proof of Obama’s closeted life and would promptly retaliate.

I think there’s a mutual assured destruction pact between the Clinton Crime Family and the Chicago Mob.

In 2008 I kept expecting the Clintons to use their vaunted private detective squad to ferret out all the bogus stories in Obama’s life history.

But the Mob blackmailed the Clintons over Arkancides.
