f nothing else, the continuing fight over ObamaCare's infamous contraception mandate has revealed two profound cultural divides in America. The first is about the role of government. The other is about fertility.
It increasingly seems as if the progressive secular worldview is almost hostile to fertility. The logic behind the contraception mandate all but implies that the only way to lead a truly free and human life is to lead a contracepted life. As the Cato Institute's Julian Sanchez has argued, the mandate seems designed not so much to improve access to contraception a nonproblem but rather to enshrine in American law that conscientious objection to contraception is so contemptible that it may be quashed regardless of consequences. The uncritical way in which contraception is described as "health care" seems to imply that pregnancy is a disease, to be avoided at all costs.
When Sarah Palin made her thunderous appearance on the national stage in 2008, the instinctive progressive revulsion toward her a revulsion that was apparent, remember, way before she made any of the long series of humiliating gaffes that have now deservedly turned her into a punch line seemed to revolve around her fertility. It was not hard to read between the lines of some progressive critiques of her character.
It seemed as if many thought it self-evident that only a deranged person would let children such as Trig (Down syndrome) and Tripp (conceived out of wedlock) live. Mollie Hemingway has rightly talked about the secular media's fear of fertility. And it usually doesn't take long for a discussion with a progressive about global economic trends to lapse into dire Malthusian warnings about "overpopulation."

Some Demographic Data:
* Religious people marry earlier and have more kids.
* The 2002 National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG) reported that women who say religion is “very important” in their everyday life have both higher fertility and higher intended fertility than those who say religion is “somewhat important” or “not important.”
* The report Sustainable Demographic Dividend shows that overall and especially in the United States, religious people have more kids than secular people.
* In the 53 rich countries they surveyed, religious people have a 2.21 birthrate, while secular people have a birthrate of 1.69 not enough to replace themselves.
That’s why they’re importing 20 million more voters.
Like what..."I can see Russia from my house."?
Abortion
Contraceptives for all
People and their endeavors (coal, oil, pollution, large scale agriculture that prevents starvation, etc,) are destroying the Earth and must be stopped.
No wonder they don't have many children.
Hispanics are reproducing lots faster than whites are, maybe the author counts them as religious conservatives.
If we are going to have abortion, it should be 100% Federal Government subsidized for registered Democrats.
No Federal or state subsidies for Republicans who want an abortion.
Okay article, but I hope the author was using the term “breeding” as a jocularity. Human beings don’t breed. Even reporduction is an unfortunate term as every soul is unique. We procreate, cooperating with God who is The Creator.
Translation: Liberals are violent misanthropes.
An L Stanton Evans article was discussed by Mark Levin about a year and half ago. The that article stated, that Left is De-populating itself, and the America’s new Immigrants ( mainly Hispanic ) have all the social-conservative DNA to potentially vote with us if we ask them to adopt Reagan’s Shinning City on the Hill, if you will especially if we explain it or teach it too him. You can’t believe how many Freeper’s have handed me my arse for thinking like that or mentioning this. Stupid is as Stupid does, especially the E-GOP for not taking Mr. Evan’s proposition seriously...
That attitude was the.only unacceptable part of this article.
Look at China as an example of a nation where government controls population growth. They will be suffering from that misguided policy for generations. However, that glaring example won’t deter our own central planners, who think they know how to run a nation better than God.
Whatta laff.
Too late the Libs figure out that they are simply extincting themselves.
Oh Well. The fertility clinic doc will deliver the bad news: sorry, no more eggs Ma’am, yer too old. “Forever Young” was just a song. Biology is less forgiving...
We are doing the best we can to help, 3 daughters and two sons. Would have done better but mama got sick and can’t have anymore. Praise God she is still here and the children are turning out great. I personally know of many families who are filling up the pews in their local churches.
And God said “be fruitful and multiply”, while the secularists say “be fruits and divide”.
Socially, they might have some of the conservative doctrines, but fiscally, they are all from countries and societies where the government is totally in charge and you do not cross El Jefe. That is the kind of political belief that finds it’s fullest expression in the Democrat party.
Shock: 80% of U.S. population growth is from immigrants, resources being sucked dry

Have you seen that sci-fi movie, Children of Men?
Movie trailer.

Children of Men is a 2006 science fiction film directed and co-written by Alfonso Cuarón. The screenplay, based on P. D. Jamess 1992 novel of the same name, was credited to five writers, with Clive Owen making uncredited contributions. The film takes place in 2027, where two decades of human infertility have left society on the brink of collapse.
Did you know that the USAs fertility rate is 1.89 (2011) which is less than the minimum replacement level of 2.1?
I find it amazing that a sci-fi movie is coming true not because of nature causing women to lose the ability to have children, but because women are choosing to just not have children.
One way to change the world for the better is to have children. Slowly but surely the Orthodox/religious Jews are replacing the non-religious ones. If Conservatives want to improve America having more children is one half of the solution.

I do not believe this article because we have been seeing this effect for almost 40 years Post-Roe yet Millenials are the most liberal generation ever tracked. The author seems to ignore almost 40% of births are out of wedlock.
“The that article stated, that Left is De-populating itself,...”
That’s because the Left worships death, destruction, misery, etc.
