Thanks for posting. Pretty funny.
i never pictured robin williams as someone who was depressed, always thought he was a happy person in real life.
The ending scene of The World According to Garp seems particularly poignant today. As Nat King Cole sings, “there will never ever be another you.”

Good post.
A long forgotten but poignant film.
Thanks for remembering....
Thank you.
I'll never forget Williams' astonishing voice acting in Disney's Aladdin (1992)--a role that some suggested at the time could have gotten him an Oscar nomination.
Yes. Seemed out of character, but it also showed he had a range in his acting which I admired.
Think of all those who are not famous why struggle with these issues. Sad for the person and very sad for the families.

The gift from God that Robin Williams had is both a blessing and a curse. He was so quick and so observant. The retarded world had to be tough for him to take.
He is in a better place, in heaven. Back to his creator. The only One Has a sense of humor funnier than him.
Thanks for the laughs Robin. It spanned my generation of happy days and Mork and Mindy to my kids and the genie in Aladdin. That makes you immortal.
During Williams's first marriage, he was involved in an extramarital relationship with Michelle Tish Carter, a cocktail waitress whom he met in 1984. She sued him in 1986, claiming that he did not tell her he was infected with the herpes simplex virus before he embarked on a sexual relationship with her in the mid-1980s, during which, she said, he transmitted the virus to her. The case was settled out of court.
I would have to disagree with you. Man cannot cure it, I think that’s true.
But Jesus raises people from the dead and he CURES mental disease including those who are bi-polar. I have see this myself.
The cure is his deep and unconditional love. More often than not, if you delve deep enough into a tortured soul, you’ll find CONDEMNATION. Doctors will tell you guilt and self-condemnation is what populates the mental wards. Jesus offers the gift of no condemnation and I have see it heal those that receive it mentally and emotionally.
God does have a sense of humor, who else would make a vain mans hair fall off off his head and have it sprout in yer ears or on yer back LOL
Eliot Spitzer is proof of God’s sense of humor. Nobody human could make that stuff up.
To make a long story short my 4'10" wife who is white thought she was Tess on Touched by an Angel. Two shrinks, two ER doctors and two interns were clueless. They were clueless even after they had pulled her off all the meds but Xanax and then relapsed within an hour of taking the meds a couple days later when she was back to normal. Within an hour she was Tess again.
I left the hospital to go get some rest and my dad stayed there. I stopped by the Chapel on my way out then went home. I was dead tired but went on line. I went to a search engine and typed in Zoloft +Trazodone +Adverse reaction and there it was. Oh when GOD answers He answers :>} The site I found was an article written by that hospitals Pharmacology Professor.
I rushed back to the hospital I was 99% sure now of what was happening. I told the floor supervisor to contact the doctor. She refused and said he makes rounds tomorrow morning. I said OK then you will not give her any medications but Ativan or Xanax. Next morning he walked in madder than a wet hen and asked why I rescinded his orders. I showed him the article he said that's pure rubbish. I said OK now read the authors name do you recognize it? His mind changed real fast.
It's a rare adverse reaction and can be headed off early if patient, family, and doctors are knowledgeable of it.
Some doctors freak when I say I'm on Xanax and I've taken it for 20 years and my wife has for 29 years. We both have neurological damage which it treats. We both take low but consistent dosages. Only one shrink wanted to write the Xanax and he knew what I had. The rest insisted I take antidepressants.
20 years ago doctors had not quite connected the dots between Vestibular Processing Disorders and Anxiety Disorder. No pill as such is ever magic. Usually meds treat symptoms and in the case of Psychiatrist they usually aren't interested in determining an actual illness but rather just treat symptoms.
Yes, in this day and age, when a troubled Hollywood personality is involved, it's hard not to consider that as the cause of death.
But, like it's been said, Robin Williams was long afflicted with mental issues. My gut instinct tells me that he finally couldn't take it any longer, and simply took his own life.
I am not an expert, but one of the things I read is that people with depression deal with it by going out of their way to make other people laugh. It is a coping mechanism, which may explain why so many people with depression become comedians.
Thank you so VERY much for being a stereotype. Perhaps you’d like to go to his funeral and declare that Williams is burning in hell too?
Reality is what people turn to when they can't handle drugs
Windflier, you’re not exactly coming down off the mountain with the tablets with that bit of news. :-)
