New anti-tunnel technology to be field-tested soon. Two solutions were picked out of 700 suggested. According to a senior IDF officer, the military is about to carry out comprehensive field tests of technological means for locating tunnels. The technology has already been successfully tested in laboratory conditions. If the experiment is successful, the systems will be deployed around Gaza at a cost of a billion to 1.5 billion shekels. The senior officer said that the IDF had received about 700 offers for anti-tunnel systems, and chose two. The senior officer also spoke about the Iron Dome system and confirmed that the system worked well during Operation Protective Edge. However, he warned, we cannot rest on our laurels: in the next campaign, the terrorists will try to improve the range of the missiles, the altitude of their trajectory and the amount of missiles launched each time. Therefore, the system must constantly update itself, and we are operating accordingly.

Won't work on our border.
How much is 1.5 billion schedules worth? Deploy it towards mexico.
we have a border?
Israel won’t rest— especially now that ISIS may be near its borders
I had no idea they could target so fast and with such accuracy- it was AWESOME - you could see them running and starting to say “oh Shi...”-KABLOOEY!!!!
And when Israel takes them on it won’t be pinpricks ...
That’s all well and good, but then there was another gazan missile launch well-documented on youtube. Shows first a tent erected to hide their work, all is camouflaged, wired for remote control, the area is full of relative innocents. Then, the tent removed and later the remote launching. Any return fire would hit either nobody or “relative” innocents.
Haven’t seen the video, but it could have been counter-battery artillery. Modern systems are fast.
I’m just wondering out loud how effective & cost-comparative buying a tunnel boring machine would be, tunneling around the perimeter of Gaza to the coast on the NE side & the Sinai on the SW and just let it fill up with sea water...
buying a tunnel boring machine...

Lease ‘em.
1.5 billion shekels = 433 million US dollars.
Screamers (1995)
Someone on this forum posted a top-notch and simple outline of a plan to drill small, deep holes every 22 inches and fill them with concrete. If the amount of concrete suddenly went up then you have a tunnel so just keep pouring.
I forget the particulars, but I was impressed with its simplicity and low price.
Maybe he’s still around.
You know the videos people were posting from pouring lead down fire ant hills? I think that would be pretty cool.
Amazing how the Jews invent stuff so fast to meet their needs.
Hamas to move all schools in to tunnels by 2015
They’d use illegals to build it in the Rio Grande.
