when Ebola patients vomit, it’s filled with the virus

one drop of infected blood on your skin is enough to infect and has a very high probability to kill

not quarantining those countries is beyond stupid

towns better start drawing up plans to self quarantine and keep people out

>towns better start drawing up plans to self quarantine and keep people out<

.
That would be highly politically incorrect.

As members of a One World government we’re in this misery together, leaving no one behind, sharing in its blessings.

The article doesn’t seem to confirm that it’s Ebola.

The article does not confirm a positive test for Ebola. The patient is in strict isolation, surrounded by a police detail.

Would the authorities ever admit to a positive diagnosis? Do the police have shoot-to-kill orders if the patient should attempt to leave quarantine?

We will be able to tell in two weeks. If the patient is still alive by then he is probably free of the disease. Presumably there will be a cheery follow-up announcement.

And if there is only silence - that will tell us something too.

The headline should read Ebola Suspected in Hamburg. That’s the correct translation.

On the plus side, when Germans get biological fear, they react forcefully. I spoke with an old German dermatologist who remembered the last time Germany had a trichinosis outbreak, in the 1950s. He said it was like returning to Nazi days, as anyone who sold meat might get a 2am wake up call by inspectors, who would inspect every bit of meat, including canned meat, by opening it, in his store.

I have been tracking these suspected cases. There were about 7 in the Phillipines -> no new news -
1 in Brazil -> "There is no risk of Ebola transmission in Brazil at this time, and neither is there a recommendation from the WHO to restrict travel or trade with the affected nations." (kinda reminds me of Jaws)

Another in Toronto, waiting on test results.

A positive and death in Morocco.

Where else? I saw something about South Africa as a possible but nothing new since then.

Having lived off and on in Germany for twenty years, I can attest to three certain characteristics of society in an episode like this. First, when the authorities make a policy of a harsh or fairly different manner...it’s the “law” at that point and ninety-nine percent of society accept. Kinda like the episode where all plastic bottles and soda cans had a deposit put on them, and you had to return them to get your value back. Second, respect for cops still exists here today....so if they say you are going to quarantine, you pack a bag and prepare yourself. Third, the general German public attitude is that German medical facilities are the best in the world, and you will get the absolute best treatment. It may be a bogus attitude, but everyone tends to believe it.

Oh - ha ha. Good.

I did fly Lufthansa (twice) and it was an interesting experience. They counted in minutes how timely their takeoff and landing was on both flights. Aloud as they strolled through the aisle.

My grandparents were from Germany as well. Dinner was at 6pm. Not 6:01 pm or 5:58 pm.

I can also add that I have never been in a Luftwaffe plane when it landed.
