In fact, I think the immigration issue is one of the reasons Carr was able to make it as close as he did.

Alexander signaled that he knew he had a real problem here when he closed out his campaign with the bald-faced lie that he had voted against amnesty by voting for the Rubio/Schumer Gang of 8 amnesty bill.

a couple of things..

1. there were 9 candidates on the ballot..the other 7 took 9% of the votes...Lamar got 49% Joe got 40% It would have been closer..

2, we have no run off here in TN..Joe could have beaten Lamar once the others were weeded out..

3. Many of Lamar’s voters were Democrats..all they had to do was ask for a Republican ballot..
