President Obama said Thursday that United States military aircraft had dropped food and water to thousands of Iraqis besieged by Islamic militants on a mountaintop in northern Iraq.

Speaking Thursday night from the State Dining Room at the White House, the president said he had directed the United States military forces to conduct targeted airstrikes on the militants if they moved to take Erbil, threatening the American citizens and military personnel there.

And he said that at the request of the Iraqi government, he had authorized the military to use airstrikes to help provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi citizens, many of them religious minorities, who are trapped on the mountain.

“... he had directed the United States military forces to conduct targeted airstrikes on the militants if they moved to take Erbil,....”

Note that airstrikes are made ONLY if the militants move to take Erbil ... so all you Christians and other minorities are up sh!t creek.

Hussein also reminded ISIS where U.S. military personnel were located. What NORMAL president would do this?

Recognize, arm, and supply the Kurds.

Nothing is done by the Gov on accident. Who knows what the intentions are.
It's all looney tunes on steroids.

Actually it's Communist think. It's how they do things.

Do you really think any intervention into this country will save them?

Bush gave them an opportunity for freedom. We trained their solders
and years of support. It was up to them to defend the freedom we helped
give them.

Apparently they do not love freedom enough to defend it.
They seem to prefer an iron hand.

Personally, I would defend Christians being slaughtered.

These people were protected under Saddam Hussein. They need to be protected after we overthrew their government.

The Zero finally found something to do with all the food that Moochie’s subjects wouldn’t touch - bomb starving people with it.

They seem to prefer an iron hand.

Let me give you a little history for perspective.

Half a century ago, the UN and the US Foreign Policy Community had a positive mania for forcing the British and French to give up their empires in Africa, all in the belief that democracy would spring up overnight. (You can make the same arguments for the Middle East.)

The one man who saw clearly that it wouldn't happen that way was Barry Goldwater. He excoriated the idea, said it was a fool's errand and that it would merely create a playground for the CIA and KGB. He summed it up with a statement that has rung through the decades -- and I'm paraphrasing here.

"There are people that are not ready for democracy, and for religious and cultural reasons may never be ready for democracy. The best that can be hoped for is a benevolent dictator who is loyal to the US, not the Soviets."

The press and the Foreign Policy Community tore him apart for that statement, but he was right. Whether it's the Middle East or Russia, there are people whose lack of experience with English Common Law have made them unsuitable for self-government.

The azz had to read about it in the late edition news paper and then have someone explain it to him.

Personally, I don’t think he cares. He doesn’t want to support anyone against Muslims. When Muslims are fighting each other, he is torn.

He is the worst president or politician to ever disgrace our lands. I am sick of him and his posse.

I am glad we are helping the Christians and the Kurds. It should have been done weeks ago.

We should have been performing air strikes against ISIS months ago. Instead, we were giving them arms.

We would have never needed to put a boot on the ground if Obama had been taking care of business. Hopefully we never have to do so.

Yes!

He waits until death and murder are at the doorsteps of Iraqi cities with Christians slaughtered. This bastard should be tried for aiding and abetting war crimes and playing politics with US foreign relations.

Ironically, I did a report on the Belgian Congo when I was in 6th grade. Seemed beautiful. Boats on the lake by the waterfall, tourism, industry, peaceful, etc.....since it was the 70s I am pretty sure I only had access to left wing sources. My kid did a report on Zaire in the 6th grade I read it out of curiosity to see what happened to the nation I read about 30 odd years ago. It broke my heart.

“Will the generals run the operation, or will the bureaucrats in Washington?”

Today, there isn’t much difference between the two.

Of course Obozo’s perfumed princes and princesses who shave pretending to be Generals and Admirals, will be controlled by Obozo’s White House Sunnis and of course the Sunni in charge of our CIA.

He finally read about the crises in the newspaper.

Even after that, he knows his policies had nothing to do with the crises.

These targeted-for-genocide folks accidentally ended up like this for no apparent reason.

O read about it now that they are fleeing, trapped and dying.

Shazzam! How did that happen?

Oh well, today I feel like helping them out a little but that’s all.

I hope their executioners don’t get hurt TOO much...

I was watching an NBC clip today about Obama dropping bombs.

It was like he really didn’t have a choice. Bombing is the last option to him. He is such the humanitarian. Yada yada yada ............ more excuses for him ... yada .... yada .... yada
