PADUCAH, Ky. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) can almost taste becoming Senate majority leader, but first he has to make sure he isnt the Republican who costs the GOP its shot at chamber control.
His strengths and weaknesses were on full display in his battle against Alison Lundergan Grimes this weekend, underscoring just how tough his race is against the Democrat.

Behind a lot of what? The story is all about McConnell, and how old he looks against this young Democrat woman.
The "Clown", as you call him... Matt Bevin, is a damned fine American. Was he an experience politician? Hell no. But, NO experienced politician in Kentucky was going to take on Team Mitch, who control this state in ways most people can't fathom.
It's no wonder that good people DON'T want to get into politics... for all the grief and ridicule they get from desk jockeys with a keyboard.
Since he lost the primary, Bevin has been using his time and money to help support and raise money for CONSERVATIVE Republican candidates for the Kentucky State House of Representatives. R's haven't controlled the Kentucky House in more than 90 years. It's time to change that.
Bevin, is still fighting for CONSERVATIVE causes. What are you doing?
If you vote for a liberal republican, you are a liberal.

Quite an imagination you have.
A few years ago Mitch McConnell & Elaine Chao were screaming “Racists!” as people — even MSM employees — were asking questions about Mrs. McConnell’s wealthy father’s ties to Red China’s Communist masters. There were questions asked about the U. of Louisville’s connections to Red China arranged by Senator McConnell — answered also by screams of “Racists!”
I’m sick of this GOP battered wife syndrome. McConnell isn’t getting my vote, and I’m tired of hearing “Well, he’s better than having a Democrat!”
GO TO HELL MITCH!!!!!
Yep, he doesn’t deserve to be a GOP leader
You mean like Mitch does?
We are going to crush the Tea Party everywhere (even if we have to be despicable in Mississippi)
Of course Mitch has never said anything stupid
I’d rather Grimes takes that seat than someone who declared “war” on Conservatives and vowed to ‘crush us everywhere they find us’.
This messenger is NO Democrat, but a pissed-off Conservative who understands that McConnell and his Ruling Class Judenrats hate Conservatives as much as if not more than the Left does.
We will be writing in a Conservative in November, and are advocating Conservatives in Kentucky do the same.
Would have made no difference who was the challenger during the Primary, the end result would have been the same.
I am in Kentucky and many conservatives are sitting this one out as they have grown disgusted with Mitch’s slimy tactics, race baiting, back room deals to support whatever kook policy the democrats want and lack of ANY leadership or push back whatsoever against the democrats and obama.
There were many procedural tactics Mitch could have used to slow Reid down and he did none of them and capitulated on higher taxes. I know some conservatives who are going to hold their noses and ask for forgiveness for voting for the slime bag as well. Even among this group I get the distinct impression that they are quite fed up with having no choice-—again. You get full blow liberal or liberal lite, some choice.
Those who are pure It’s All About the Republican Party animals in the state would vote for FDR if they put an (R) in front of his name, they are almost as bad a the low information voters because they just do what the Party tells them.
Mitch is not well liked and in most cases out right hated in Kentucky. The only way he wins is if he pulls lots of democrat cross over votes in coal counties and if that idiot Grimes keeps opening her mouth. Either way very very little to no representation for conservatives on this ticket.
thanks, for the posting.
And because you will take the corrupt socialist McConnell over the corrupt socialist democrat, we are stuck with corrupt socialists in the GOP.
You must live in Frankfort or Lousiville then. We hate his guts out here. I see Alison signs everywhere, not a single McConnell sign anywhere. Fancy Farm was a clue to how much he is hated out here, DESPITE his bussing in 'Team Mitch' to try and shout down those booing him last weekend.
The senate republicans are outnumbered in the senate and their hands are tied.
You get those talking points from Mitch's office of Boehner's?
The republicans in the house and that includes the tea party people, because without the republicans the tea party cannont do anything either. We must all stick together if we truly want to get things done.
Your Ruling Class stooges like McConnell and Boehner have gone to war on Conservatives and stick together with the Democrats, giving Obama whatever he wants without any opposition. "In order to get things done'. Like Amnesty.
You can take your electioneering for the Ruling Class stooge McConnell and shove it. We want him gone.
McConnell is worse for the Constitution and for Conservatives than if Grimes were in that seat. Art least we know who she is, and she will have to stab us from the front, instead of sneaking up behind us like McConnell does to stab us in the heart from the back.
He’s desk jockeying.
>>We will be writing in a Conservative in November<<
Same here, FRiend.
I've been saying that we need to adopt a basketball strategy of "fouls to give."
We need to figure out with some confidence how many seats we are likely to win, and how many we can strategically lose and still hold the Senate. Then we target those Senators that we can do without, like McConnell.
We came close to winning the Senate in 2012, but all the Senate races collapsed after the convention. I blame McConnell's failure of leadership for the 2012 Senate losses. He failed to make retaking the Senate a national issue. He failed to get out in front of the news and make the news.
That same pattern is taking shape now. There is no uniform coordinated message being crafted by McConnell for all Republican Senate candidates to use to convince voters that a Republican Senate is the solution to our current problems. McConnell is content to fly under the radar and let each Senate candidate sink or swim on his own.
We may never retake the Senate because of McConnell, not due to a McConnell loss.

The Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) released a web video that exposes Mitch McConnell’s IRS-like political attacks on conservatives and his record of supporting higher taxes, more debt, and funding for Obamacare.
