Gaza: In the minutes before the ceasefire kicked in at Gaza this morning, Hamas fired a flurry of rockets towards Israel - 30 according to some counts.
Israel has argued that that these rockets are fired from civilian areas, and this is why its retaliatory strikes can result in civilian casualties.
But this morning, NDTV witnessed one such rocket silo being created under a tent right next to the hotel where our team was staying. Minutes later, we saw the rocket being fired, just before the 72-hour ceasefire came into effect.
It began with a mysterious tent with a blue canopy that bobbed up yesterday (August 4) at 6:30 am in an open patch of land next to our window. We saw three men making a multitude of journeys in and out of the tent, sometimes with wires.

How many journalists saw the same thing and then only ONE reported on it .
Well color me shocked/sarc..Hamas uses civilians as human shields, Im shocked, shocked I tell ya/sarc
I am betting that CNN and MSNBC won’t be reporting on this because it will make their butt buddy Hamas not look so good
Once again, foreign news services report news that US media won’t touch.
I’d imagine this journalist would not have reported this story unless he had already left Gaza, and has no plans whatsoever to go back.
The mysterious blue tent was probably a UN tent.
Even a French reporter is reporting on this..yet the US media won’t touch it because the majority of the US media is Pro Hamas..reporting on this now would just make the media look stupid and they don’t want that
Yep. From the article:
This rocket was set up and launched from a piece of ground directly adjacent to a hotel where much of the Foreign Media was staying.
The rocket was launched early in the morning when most of the Media people would be in bed in the hotel.
The rocket was launched ten minutes before the cease fire, just enough time for the Israelis to calculate and launch a counter battery attack on the missile launch site before the cease fire took place.
This was nothing less than a Hamas attempt to create an international incident where the Israelis launch a retaliatory attack on the missile minutes before the cease fire took place, potentially killing a large number of the members of the Media staying in the hotel.
The goal of this set up of foreign journalists was to kill as many journalists as possible to give Hamas a propaganda victory on the stage of world opinion by claiming that Israel violated the cease fire and created an atrocity that resulted in the deaths of many foreign media members and humanitarian aid workers staying at the hotel.
Exactly.
They should have zoomed in on them, for the Mossad's benefit.
My thoughts exactly. Too bad our media is willfully blind.
They are running out of UN schools and hospitals I guess. Now they are using the hotels that western journalists are staying in.
Convenient, if nothing else, for all parties concerned. The journos don’t have to travel that far to get a story, or some pretty Pulitzer-caliber pictures. The palis get willing dupes to be their human shields. The Israelis get to shoot back at targets that the journos can verifiably confirm don’t involve civilians or children, just journalists.
Perfect.
Who needs the NSA, we get the best intel and analysis right here on FR.
AND Palestinians need their own country.
{Palestinians need a country far away from Israel so their green eyed jealousy doesn't get the better of them.
The world and Arabs can chip in - donate land and cash for Palestine... In 70 years or less - after planting thousands of trees and working really hard they'll have their own wonderful country.
Or they'll spend the whole time fighting with other Arab States and after 70 years they'll have an Arab hellhole. It'll be their call - and they won't be inflicting either on Israel or the West.
Let me guess - the IDF isn’t supposed to fire on the UN Blue tents.
