The Republican Leadership may be doing just fine with the Wall Street crowd and extremists who oppose birth control, but for the majority of ordinary Americans its actions over the last several weeks have rapidly begun to seal its fate as a minority party.
First, let's start with the fact that the Republican Party is -- at this very moment -- a distinctly minority party in American politics.
The Gallup poll reports that the number of Americans identifying as Republicans has fallen to its lowest level in the quarter century it has been tracking the number: 25 percent.

And there you have it
With the Demonrat Party, incest is best
Elections are the proof, polls are just indicators. So, lets look at election results.
The GOP controls:
State Governors by Party.
Here's a link with all the details on State Legislatures control, where the GOP has far outpaced the Donks.
I haven’t read the article, but I can tell you without even looking that I despise the gop establishment.
A bunch of elitist, social corporatists.
I do not believe Jim has too much of a problem kicking this garbage around a little bit these days...
It keeps us sharp...Gives us something to beat up on...Right???
I’ll give him a holler just to make sure...
;-)
He knows I follow the rules as much as possible...Riiiightttt...hehehe
Yeah, the time for this doom and gloom was when the token president’s party controlled Congress. The House, which is much more responsive to public sentiment (as the whole House is up for re-election every two years), would indicate the Dems have problems as well. Should they lose the Senate as well (which is slower to change hands, due to the fact that only 1/3 is up for re-election every two years), then Americans have sent a clear message that the Dems in fact are out of touch.
Black indifference due to their worsening lot since Obama’s election, and youth angst over lack of opportunities, should serve the Republicans well. Hopefully Saturday Night Live and Jon Stewart won’t be able to win so many over to the Dem ticket this time around...
Love your tag line.
Thanks; the demographic nightmare we are witnessing is a carefully orchestrated campaign, not pure chance.
Saying it, no matter how many times you do, does not make it so.
Well then, obviously, we must adopt a Liberal Democrat platform.....right?
Look, you've been a concern-troll-style naysayer and parade-rainer since I noticed you on the forum.
I offer a much more likely take on this: Republicans HAVE adopted a much more leftward posture, and the reason Republican support is down, is that people who are liberal won't favor Republicans ANYWAYS, and people who are conservative won't favor Republicans with the new liberal veneer.
See my post #22. Then get back to me.
......took me the first few paragraphs to figure that out!
I previously and obviously mistakenly thought that American Thinker articles were not barfers! No more!
What’s it say about someone when they take pride in trampling on individual rights?
Here’s one interesting simile:
Democrats are the fun but bad boy, meanwhile Republicans are like the good guy that is bypassed.
Now, thing is, that right now, voters are going to turn to the Republicans like girls turn to the good guy after a series of bad boy drama. The real key, is to figure out HOW to get the electorate willing to do whatever it takes to do what we want them to do in order to earn our help and support.
Voters wanted the bad boy (Democrats/Obama) badly, but now that the country is a mess, they want the good boy (Republicans/Future GOP President) to make it all better now.
Here’s the key: How do we fix the country, but teach the irresponsible idiots a permanent lesson on WHY getting mixed up with the bad boy was a bad idea and make the moron earn their help.
GW kept the country going and kept the terrorists at bay, but the stupid hippies mouthed off to GW as he was leaving, along with the unpleasant fact that Obama was even elected in the first place. Quite frankly, we’re not going to get good Presidential candidates for the Republican party, or any party, unless the electorate changes their attitudes.
Stinks that decent people get mixed up in the mess, but frankly put, it’s going to take a very changed country to get the best possible leadership into the White House and Congress.
Would it be more accurate to believe that it is the republican party “leadership” is what has steered more to the center, and dipping its toe in the left side of the tub, than the “base” conservative (Tea Party) type???
I’m just asking if that might be what you see Laz???
Not trying to beat you over the head with it or parsing words...I just want to see if we are on the same page...No prob, Bob...
Democrats are the fun but bad boy, meanwhile Republicans are like the good guy that is bypassed.
(or publically dressed down by the media, and leadership by the elitists/establishment types in the republican party...)

(I would summize it better to get the “base”, the non-active republican party base, to WANT to turnout and vote for “real” conservatives, not just what is placed in front of them on the ballot by the establishment...Remember “conservative” means almost something entirely different in Texas vs. N.Y., California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey...etc etc etc)
Voters wanted the bad boy (Democrats/Obama) badly, but now that the country is a mess, they want the good boy (Republicans/Future GOP President) to make it all better now.
(liberal/socialism is politically easier, emotional, plays better to the non-virtue of your citizenry, you know, the low information crowd, the intellectually lazy folks, the ones with the attention span of a gnat...hehehe)
Heres the key: How do we fix the country, but teach the irresponsible idiots a permanent lesson on WHY getting mixed up with the bad boy was a bad idea and make the moron earn their help.
(That’s going to be a hill that will be hard to hump...But it is a lofty and noble goal...There will always be a liberal/socialist community in our system of government and communities around the country...When you can get them to start consuming their own, that’s when we will start winning, and correcting this problem...I will not be holding my breath though...We got bigger things to fry up before that result can be quantified...)
GW kept the country going and kept the terrorists at bay, but the stupid hippies mouthed off to GW as he was leaving, along with the unpleasant fact that Obama was even elected in the first place. Quite frankly, were not going to get good Presidential candidates for the Republican party, or any party, unless the electorate changes their attitudes.
(You are exactly right...Do not fall for, or blindly accept what is given to you for candidates for office, locally, state, or national races...It is ok to question them, and not accept that they are public faces of some agenda, the “best” candidate because they matchup better than the democrats, etc etc etc, can “raise more money” for the race or party...Just something (suggestions) to build a template for you to think about...)
Stinks that decent people get mixed up in the mess, but frankly put, its going to take a very changed country to get the best possible leadership into the White House and Congress.
(It’s going to take another series of unfortunate incidents to change the mindset of the political thinking of the citizenry in this country...the majority that does not think beyond the next episode of Survivor, or American Idol, all of those distractions are what keep those that could sway an election to the right are in play, and solidly into the mindset of Americans today...They have lost focus, and consider politics to be something people who don’t have time to be like they are to be “out of touch”...How ironic, wouldn’t you say???)
If you don’t mind, what state do you live in??? It would give me an idea what you are up against...Don’t worry, I will not tell you to move to a more conservative state if that turns out to be others opinion...We need people to stay put, make impacts on their communities, no matter what the circumstances...
This is not going to be solved in one election cycle, it was never going to be that easy...
When you get active, and when elected officials see you coming and go, “Oh [expletive deleted], here comes “CorporateStepsister”, or “Stevie-D”!!!”
That is the best reaction I would want...They need to know more people are paying attention, and when they do something right, we need to let them know about that as much as when they screw up and do something stupid as well...
That’s how you rebuild, and correct things...It tales time, and consistency...And the battle will be against the democrats AND the republican party leadership as well...
Oh, no question. I was using shorthand, for our Resident Concern Troll — the guy I originally posted to.
Cool...
Huff post doesn’t load well for me, I take that as a sign.
