The Republican Leadership may be doing just fine with the Wall Street crowd and extremists who oppose birth control, but for the majority of ordinary Americans its actions over the last several weeks have rapidly begun to seal its fate as a minority party.
First, let's start with the fact that the Republican Party is -- at this very moment -- a distinctly minority party in American politics.
The Gallup poll reports that the number of Americans identifying as Republicans has fallen to its lowest level in the quarter century it has been tracking the number: 25 percent.

No biggy secret what is behind this regurgitation and re-purposing of this old crap that passes for news...
The narrative pushers are starting to get into high gear...
yawn...
Well, poll numbers are pretty accurate and been confirmed by numbers. WE claim based on some good solid facts that the GOP is out of touch with ordinary Americans. Demographics are against us. More people vote Dim than GOP. Social issues are moving decidedly Left.
This is only a “barf” because I/we don’t like it. But the facts are the facts. Putting our head in the sand just results in that day when we pull our heads out of the sand and wonder where everyone went. Again, even we tend to agree with this conclusion. We ignore facts at our peril.
I like how he calls fair, legal elections “voter suppression”.
Robert Creamer is married to Illinois congresswoman Jan Schakowsky.
He is a full fledged socialist-communist.
But and here's a but as big as Moochelle's,,,the number of Americans that consider themselves as conservative has increased. Its the Pubbies that have left the building not Elvis.
So you’re saying BO’s low poll numbers, and in particular his very unpopular management of the immigration crisis, will not translate to the November election at all?
I usually avoid the HuffPost, used to be verboten here.
When I look at the list of “Most Popular” stories on that site, I can see why the IQ of liberals is so low.
No need to continue....
Recently my wife, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, and I joined other Democrats taking the "Minimum Wage Challenge" to call attention to how difficult it is to live on today's minimum wage. We worked very hard at trying to live on the $77 per week of discretionary income that the average minimum wage worker has to buy groceries, transportation, gas, pet food, entertainment, clothing, cleaning, etc. We still went over by about $5.
The "Minimum Wage Challenge" makes it really clear how little workers take home who work hard flipping burgers, cleaning hotel rooms, or bussing tables. Some small examples: One trip a day to Starbucks costing $3.25 per visit -- that many people take for granted -- would gobble up $22.75 or 30 percent of that $77. A five-dollar meal at Subway each day would consume $35 or almost half of the $77. The fare on the DC metro five times a week, eats up almost a third of the $77 just trying to get to and from work at the minimum wage job.
Typical Rat: instead of working with Republicans to increase job opportunities, his wife opts for a cheap photo-op.
Starbucks and Subway were never formed to cater to the minimum wage crowd.
There are many reasons why people are stuck in minimum wage jobs, but first and foremost, they don't have the skills to compete for higher wage jobs. If you think I'm going to pay $15 for a Happy Meal for my grandson, you're out of your mind.
This is very clear...
Us conservatives don’t like the GOP either. Look what happened in Mississippi.
Well the GOP is out of touch, I will agree with that.
Not such a big deal. The GOP deserves to die, and be replaced by a new, genuinely conservative party. The faster the rotten edifice of the GOP is gone, the sooner this can happen. 25% may identify as “Republican,” but we can reach the MAJORITIES out there who support gun rights and religious freedom, and who oppose illegal immigration. Build a new, truly pro-American party.
More than that, he is a crook and a convicted felon.
C'mon Bob, instead of wasting your time with screeds like this nonsense, don't you have a bank to defraud?
I don’t remember reading anywhere in the Constitution that you have a right to go to Starbucks or out to eat. I remember times when going out was out of reach after buying groceries, rent, and gas. Problem is that most think it is a right and that you deserve to go out whether you pay for it or not. These same people have iPhones, cable, and internet.
A resume enhancer, plus he offered his "sincere apology" to all he defrauded.
You want the easy way to refinance your house? Just go delinquent for a couple of months, and ask for a HAMP modification. The servicer will be more than happy to drop your rate to 2%, and they'll make more money off your mortgage in mod fees than they would for just servicing the loan.
“Hogwash”!!! This fellow is not all there!! God help our nation with these loon Democrats loose!!! American voters, all....destroy the Democrat Party...politically come November 4, 2014!!!
can’t be anymore biased, and saying the GOP is with Wall street is pathetic, and I suggest they look at where the left gets a lot of their money and who from.
Agree, but there are multiple relevant questions here. One was brought up by the person who posted that there is a disconnect between the number of people who identify themselves as Republican and those who identify themselves as conservative. One reason for that, IMHO, is that the Democrats have been very successful in mischaracterizing the Republican party. There is a reason why Nancy Pelosi told the media recently that they needed to help the Democrats ‘get the message out’.
Propaganda works, and marketing has becoming a huge determinant in politics. Advertising is a multi-billion dollar business because it truly does influence the consumer. The Republicans are not the ‘cool’ party, and the Democrats have successfully branded them as ‘retro’, anti-science, angry white guys. Not true, but this is what the brand name recognition is for a lot of people - and like it or not, they vote.
