First kill off the doctors…sigh…why can’t a plague go after lawyers?

It doesn’t want to get sued.

Sad. Still wondering why Obama, despite his vaunted pen and phone, is allowing commercial flights in and out of the endemic areas of West Africa. An ill traveler or crew member is very unlikely to cause an epidemic in the US but even a limited endemic outbreak will cause panic and will be economically devastating. Just hope that Obama and his clown parade are not so crazy that they hope such a crisis, which can be eventually controlled with great effort, will distract people from focusing on his other failings.

LOL... I guess pestilence respects other pestilence.

Not that there’s anything funny about the situation itself.

If you live in a single family home, prepare to quarantine yourself. If you live in an apartment complex or highrise good luck. While I consider it unlikely Ebola ravage the USA in the manner it is ravaging West Africa, it is not at all certain that it won't so a little preparing would be a prudent thing to do.

Question for the experts. Can Ebola get into a city's water supply? TIA.

Heh—you’re suggesting a deadly pathogen gives “professional courtesy” to another deadly pathogen?

Well, it's a virus. So far, the worst and quickest, waterborne infections--like cholera--are bacterial.

it never, never hurts to have some food and fuel and water on hand.

As Ebola is transmitted now, we can control it…but if it changes, becomes more like influenza…not so much.

Better still, why not the bureaucrats and the politicians?

We need to import more Ebola patients.

It’s unfair and racis that only African doctors are getting infected.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

This is the guy that peed on the healthcare workers when they told him he tested positive for Ebola. Looks like he got the Doctor and maybe a few others. We will find out soon.

If you think that they are 100% telling the truth on transmission methods then I have a “bridge for sale”...

Yeah, germ-to-germ professional courtesy would be my guess.

Yes. I find it very telling that it was a US doctor that got infected, using US hygiene…something may have changed about transmission.

Still, our porous southern border is a lot more dangerous in re Ebola than the first-class Emory...

I’m wondering if it has already changed, given that at least 2 workers, complete with hazmat suits, have contracted it.

Hate to say this, but I truly suspect he and president Jarrett WANT this plague in the USA.

Reduced population is easier to control. Besides, it's not fair that only "brown" countries have the Red Death.

And we flew this into Atlanta.

I have seen this movie. It doesn’t end well.

And I’ll lay dollars to doughnuts that sooner or later (if not already) one infected will come across the border to supplement the ones that already have with TB, chicken pox, scabies and all the other pestilence.
