Children aged under five should be taught about gay relationships to help fight homophobia, Stonewall's new chief executive Ruth Hunt has said. She believes that learning about different types of families is the "next step" for equality but Christian faith campaigners have described the idea as "concerning" and an attempt to "manipulate the state education system". Ms Hunt told The Independent: "I think the next step is about going into pre-schools. We need to encourage [under-fives] to think about different families. Loads of kids these days have two mums or two dads - or at least gay uncles and aunts." She claimed the quality of children's books showing difference is "dire" and any new material to address the issue must be age appropriate. Claiming that the word "gay" is sometimes used in a negative way in primary schools, she told The Independent: "Most language moves on but 98 per cent of kids hear 'that's so gay' on a regular basis and it was the same five years ago. "We've seen bullying of gay kids go down from 65 per cent to 50 per cent, so the bullying's going down, but not the language." Christian Concern chief executive Andrea Minichiello Williams said that many parents and grandparents "will be horrified to hear that under-fives are now being targeted", adding: "Those who want to turn the world on its head have often tried to manipulate the state education system to achieve their ends." A Department for Education spokesman said: "Bullying in schools can have a real impact on young peoples' attainment, attendance and achievement at school - that is why we are committed to tackling all forms of bullying, including homophobic bullying, in an age-appropriate manner.

Worse is that many in positions that could speak up and actually stop this nonsense do nothing for fear of being labelled a bigot, or a homophobe, or intolerant. When you have to be tolerant to all lifestyles you invite all types of deranged activity. We actually allow these mental illnesses to run unchecked across the country. We even allow people to kill their children, legally. Why are we not up in arms?!
