It's going from worse to worst each week in California.
Suffering in its third year of drought, more than 58 percent of the state is currently in "exceptional drought" stage, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor map. That marks a huge jump from just seven days ago, when about 36 percent of the state was categorized that way.
Exceptional drought, the most extreme category, indicates widespread crop and pasture losses and shortages of water in reservoirs, streams and wells.
If the state continues on this path, there may have to be thoughts about moving people out, said Lynn Wilson, academic chair at Kaplan University and who serves on the climate change delegation in the United Nations.

Every time you read a story like this remember:
The illegal aliens in this country consume the equivalent of Lake Tahoe EACH YEAR.
THINK ABOUT THAT, the next time water rationing is imposed!
can’t, we might hurt a fish!
An yes..the “Zimbabwe” plan.....water will be the justification to push out the mostly white farmers of the Central Valley
“Im with Ms Wilson. Move all the illegal aliens out!”
When there are no crops to manage, no lawns to mow, etc., a lot of them will leave (unless somehow the RATs figure out a way to get welfare money from all those bankrupt farmers). Most non-Californians don’t know that agriculture is California’s biggest business by a wide margin.
Some Statistics
California’s economy is the 8th largest economy in the world (2012), if the states of the U.S. were compared with other countries. As of 2013, the gross state product (GSP) is about $2.05 trillion, which is 13.2% of the United States gross domestic product (GDP).
Agriculture (including fruit, vegetables, dairy, and wine production) is a major California industry. Airborne exports of perishable fruits and vegetables amounted to approximately $579 million in 2007. By way of comparison, California exported more agricultural products by air that year than 23 other states did by all modes of transport.
According to the California Department of Food and Agriculture, “California agriculture is nearly a $36.6 billion dollar industry that generates $100 billion in related economic activity.” The states agricultural sales first exceeded $30 billion in 2004, making it more than twice the size of any other state’s agriculture industry.
California is the leading dairy state. Milk is California’s number one farm commodity. Exports of almonds continued to be the top commodity from California, with a value of $2.83 billion in foreign sales. Dairy and dairy products ranked second to almonds with a California total export value of $1.42 billion, a 24 percent increase over 2010. California’s dairy industry generated $47 billion “in economic activity” in 2004 and employed over 400,000 people.”
The Colorado reached the Sea of Cortez this year. First time in about fifty years.

Perhaps they should “migrate” some of their illegals south - to their actual homes.
That’s not why CA gets denigrated. The liberals with their sick “environmental” rules have been attacking that state’s produce sector for decades.
The legislature first.
Not sure but I think this is more an environmentalist problem. They won’t let CA farmers bring in water because it’s harmful to the dart snail.
No way. Stay there. We don’t want you. You people are stupid, insane, or both. Lick the dew off your front lawn if you have to.
I left that cesspit of stylish ignorance 11 years ago and haven’t been back for good reason.
Ironic if they move to Oklahoma.
The average person uses 100 gallons of water a day:
Bath A full tub is about 36 gallons.
Shower 2-2.5 gallons per minute. Old shower heads use as much as 4 gallons per minute.
Teeth brushing <1 gallon, especially if water is turned off while brushing. Newer bath faucets use about 1 gallon per minute, whereas older models use over 2 gallons.
Hands/face washing 1 gallon
Face/leg shaving 1 gallon
Dishwasher 20 gallons/load, depending of efficiency of dishwasher
Dishwashing by hand: 4 gallons/minute for old faucets.. Newer kitchen faucets use about 1-2 gallons per minutes.
Clothes washer 25 gallons/load for newer washers. Older models use about 40 gallons per load.
Toilet flush 3 gallons for older models. Most all new toilets use 1.2-1.6 gallons per flush.
Glasses of water drunk 8 oz. per glass (did you remember to drink your 8 glasses of water today?)
Outdoor watering 2 gallons per minute
There are 30 MILLION + illegal aliens in the US
so.... 30,000,000 X 100 gallons = 3 billion gallons of fresh water consumed per DAY by illegal aliens (at a minimum)
365 days in a year X 3 billion = 1.095 TRILLION gallons of water a year.
And stop flushing water away for trash fish.
And maybe stop growing Rice in a desert....
“Instead of spending billions on new rail systems, spend it on desalinization plants and pipes. That is, unless the intention was to use the new rails to permanently transport people out.”
Bingo! We can learn from Israel on this!

Please do not move to Georgia.
I had been writing articles to the paper about this very subject ten years ago. We are constantly hammered about conservation of water and air and yet the socialist allow bus loads of illegals into the state. Ten people to a house hold using water, plugging sewers with grease and using gas. Now every Mexican market has fifty chickens on the barbecue out in front. I was told that I was a right wing conservative redneck by all of the elevated latte drinking socialist horses asses.
Growing up in CA, people who were considered ignorant rednecks by the arrogant libs were called “Okies.”
All the “Okies” can start referring to idiots who foolishly attempt suicide through environmental regulation as “Callies.”
I hear Central America has rain forests.
Where did that list come from? There’s no way I run the washing machine daily. And I shave in the shower. Furthermore, I don’t have a lawn to bother watering, and even if I did, we’ve got plenty of rain this year.
There’s no way brushing my teeth uses anywhere close to a gallon of water when turned off; not even a quart.
