The Conservative talker quit his show during the middle of his program 7/31. The Jason Lewis Show is syndicated by Genesis Communications. Lewis spent a decade at KSTP-AM in the Twin Cities before leaving the station in 2003 for a job at WBT in Charlotte. He returned to the Twin Cities in 2006 for a job at KTLK. Lewis show was syndicated in 2009. His flagship was Clear Channels KTLK.
He told me two months ago he intended to retire Aug. 1, Mike Crusham, president and market manager of CCME Minneapolis/St. Paul told The St. Paul Pioneer Press. He decided not to go public with it until today. I think he is serious about it. I hope he is not. He is one of the best talk show hosts I have ever worked with or listened to.
A couple of hours after he quit, Lewis said via his Twitter account: Today I left the radio biz for something better.
The tweet included the hashtag #GoingGalt and a link to the website galt.io.
The site says this about Going Galt: A phrase derived from the iconic Ayn Rand novel Atlas Shrugged. In the book, the producers or men of the minds as the famed author put it decide to go out on strike as a protest against those who would attack them politically.
Also on the site is a 15-minute clip featuring Lewis that, according to galt.io, is a parody of what it is like working in a highly regulated industry and some of the events that led to his decision to quit the radio show.
A Jan. 30 article in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal describes galt.io as a Libertarian tech startup co-founded by Lewis.
Clear Channels Crusham said the station is planning on running the Joe Pags Show, from WOAI in San Antonio, starting next week in Lewis KTLK time slot.
Andy Dean quit too.
He was cancelled.
Andy Dean? is on the same network in Houston and announced he was signing off to some web thing.
I think it’s all a corporate publicity stunt.
And the CEO of LiveNation just hosted President Obama at his home.

Andy Dean steps down as host of America Now
Premiere Networks announced Andy Dean has decided to step down as host of America Now on 8/8, to focus on some exciting projects in the works. Details regarding a new host for the popular News/Talk program will be announced after the Labor Day holiday. Joe Pags, host of the Premiere Networks-syndicated The Weekend, as well as The Joe Pags Show on WOAI-AM/San Antonio, KPRC-AM/Houston, KHOW-AM/Denver and KEX-AM/Portland, will serve as guest host of America Now beginning 8/11.
Well......As I always said during my career, “I was looking for a job when I found this one.”
That may not mean much to some people, but I understood it.
The story of my life, FRiend!
The next morning the KTLK station manager came on and talked about what the station was going to do with the slot. He said Dean quit to pursue other interests.
I have no idea what the truth is.
He was saying all last week that he was canned. That station manager was talking corporation talk.
I hope this Pags guy isn't who I think it is.
I think network conservative talk radio has run it's course. The parallels with Rock & Roll are striking.
Joe Pagliarulo. Broadcasts out of San Antonio as I recall. I’m sure he’s on a network somewhere. Used to sub for Hugh Hewitt, I think.
Is “Pags” the guy who subbed for Dean a couple of weeks ago and did flatulence “humor”?
Jason dropped hints from time to time that the business wasn’t going too well.
