WASHINGTON The chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee said Thursday that the likelihood Republicans win back the Senate is better today than when he assumed leadership in 2012.
During a luncheon with reporters, Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said: Back in the very beginning, I wouldve told you we had six good candidates in six states.
Now, Moran said, the number of races where Republicans could pick up seats from Democrats has expanded to somewhere in the range of 12 to 14 states.
Republicans need to flip six states to win back control of the Senate.
Moran credited Republicans with nominating credible candidates in primaries across the country.
I think what we are most pleased about is the quality of candidates that we have in those states, Moran said.
Moran listed open-seats in West Virginia, Montana and South Dakota as the top three most likely pick-ups for Republicans.
They are solidly red states, and they have good candidates, excellent candidates, and Democrat opposition is not at that caliber, he said.
Moran also listed Louisiana, Arkansas, North Carolina and Alaska as other top target states for Republicans. Each of these states have Democratic incumbents running in red states.
We have significant opportunities, Moran said. History is on our side. In a non-presidential year in the second term of a president, the party out of power in this case, the Republicans, on average win six and half seats.

Just another fund raising pipe dream.
Until Moran counts the votes, he may barely win 4-5 states.

I remember John Cornyn saying something like that before 2010 and that turned out to be one of the biggest disasters in recent memory. The Republican Senate campaign leadership was amazing inept. I hope that has changed.

Well if the Republicans continue do nothing and let Democrats run circles around them like Boehner, then this means nothing......

If they put up RINOs and conspire against conservatives, it ain’t gonna happen. I’m tired of holding my nose when I pull the lever.

If the gop-e aka dimocrat lite leadership continues this amnesty nonsense, they'll be lucky to hold what they've got.
A tremendous political opportunity is for the taking and the gop-e is about to blow it.

And Romney was ahead of Obama in 2012, according to Republican polling. Meanwhile, the Democrats keep handing out Free Stuff to the ignorant, and their media wing destroys GOP candidates. We have seen this movie before.

Even if they do get the 6 they need, they won’t take the leadership, somebody will flip to the Democrats.

Yea, win the senate, then what? Repubs have no defined plan for anything.
What is the agenda should the GOP win both houses again? During Bush all they
did was capitulate to the Dems because hey, they were a minority party.
Did the Rats do that for the Repubs the last 5.5 Years? F-no.

No choice, we must hold our noses this time. And 2016. Then force
the Repubs to make the proper legal decisions. Moral Courage.

Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee
Well considering his position, what else can he possibly say. I mean if he is not the cheerleader who else could be. I would love for it to be true, but I think if we take 3 seats we are lucky especially how the Republicans are acting lately.

My choice is to NOT holds my nose. Ever again. Smart conservatives will broom old fossils like McConnell so gaining seats is not likely.
Gaining seats with current leadership will pass "comprehensive immigration reform" in a heartbeat.

In Michigan in my opinion Terry Lynn Land’s campaign for US Senate has been a PR Disaster. Her TV ads are terrible.
This should be a cake walk even in Michigan. If I had to wager money I’d say Karl Rove is her adviser. Bland campaign.
The only thing going for her is the idiot she is running against, Gary Peters. However you can ad 5-10 points just because he is a Rat.
