Colorado will begin issuing driver’s licenses and identification cards to immigrants Friday regardless of their legal status, underscoring a sea change in a state that less than a decade ago passed strict immigration enforcement laws.
Now, thousands of immigrants are waiting to get cards they hope will add a degree of legitimacy to their residency in Colorado. About 9,500 people are signed up for appointments through the next 90 days to get the documents, with more getting scheduled every day. Both people in the country illegally and those who have temporary legal status will qualify.
The demand for the licenses and identification cards has been tremendous, with the state’s website for appointments crashing at one point because of traffic, and immigrant advocates urging officials to add more locations where people can go. So far, appointments are being handled at only five locations—Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, and Grand Junction. …

The ID cards will be considered voter ID. That is why they give them licenses.
What do you bet they will not be expected to have car insurance.
And don’t tell me car insurance is required in Colorado. It may be for Americans, but it will be overlooked for illegals. They hit you, you pay.
Not that I know of. Colorado requires proof of insurance to register a vehicle - insurance is attached to each vehicle, not the drive.
Illegals driving with or without license. They don’t worry about our laws because nobody holds them to the law. The cops look the other way in many cases.
They want them to have a license to register them to vote.
The excuse could be that they don't want to be left out, or feel bad for being foreigners.
My Gas company Mis-spelled my Last name, does that mean i can do into a Colorado DMV office, claim I am an Illegal Ukrainian immigrant and get a second drivers license based off my Gas bill?

Can I illegally enter any of the countries that these illegals are from and be given welfare, a driver’s license, free housing, schooling, etc? Absolutely NOT. I’d be put in jail quickly be deported. The same should happen to all of these illegals. I’m totally sick of this crap!
Driver licenses are about government fees too, but I see your point. Liberals wang reinforcements in CO just in case a few of the sheeple should ever “catch on.”
