The Royal Air Force could be called in to bring back UK citizens infected with the deadly Ebola disease from West Africa. David Cameron has said that Ebola outbreak is a very serious threat to the UK and the foreign secretary, Philip Hammond, is preparing to chair an emergency meeting today on how to tighten Britains defences against the virus. Major Thomas Fletcher, of the Royal Army Medical Corps said it was likely the meeting would discuss putting the military on alert to repatriate Britons infected with the disease. The Royal Air Forces Infection Prevention Control Team is likely to be placed on standby to collect UK citizens and return them to Britain in quarantine conditions.

You forgot the part about totally incinerating the corpses and affected areas of quarantine once the infected are dead.
It’s more than 90 percent fatal with treatment. The disease breaks down your blood vessels so you internally bleed to death.
The cure is simple but getting people to a competent hospital in time must not be.
Ditto with the airlifts. Isn't this happening in Africa? I DON'T have a lot of faith. Do you?
Access to good care "in the bush" may not be so simple. GOOD CARE requires a GOOD hospital with GOOD emergency services. Maybe THAT ISN'T that easy to access.
THAT would turn one into an INSTANT Italian, or at least an Italian-speaking American.
Do you believe everything you read?
There’s a shortage of a lot of drugs off and on these days.
No, did you?
I had never heard of "Ringer's Solution.
No doubt you are correct.
============================================
From Google: Ringer's solution is the name given to a solution of several salts dissolved in water for the purpose of creating an isotonic solution relative to the bodily fluids of an animal. Ringer's solution typically contains sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride and sodium bicarbonate, with the last used to balance the pH. Other additions can include chemical fuel sources for cells, including ATP and dextrose, as well as antibiotics and antifungals.
I guess I misheard what I heard.
I guess I heard wrong.
From Wikipedia: Ebola virus disease (EVD) or Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF) is the human disease caused by the ebola virus. Symptoms typically start two days to three weeks after contracting the virus, with a fever, throat and muscle pains, and headaches. There is then typically nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, along with decreased functioning of the liver and kidneys. At this point, some people begin to have problems with bleeding.
=========================================
A big part of the problem seems to be that the virus symptoms can start two days to THREE WEEKS later. By THREE WEEKS later, it would surely be fatal.
The disease is usually acquired when a person comes into contact with the blood or bodily fluids of an infected animal such as a monkey or fruit bat. Fruit bats are believed to carry and spread the virus without being affected by it. Once infection of a human occurs, the disease may be spread from one person to another. Male survivors may be able to transmit the disease via their semen for nearly two months. To make the diagnosis, typically other diseases with similar symptoms such as malaria, cholera and other viral hemorrhagic fever are first excluded. The blood may then be tested for antibodies to the virus, or the viral RNA, or the virus itself, to confirm the diagnosis.

GeezLaweez.
"Male survivors"?? I guess there ARE survivors, unless that's a lie.
No,do you.
No.
I assume you are speaking of LEGAL drugs.
And, I'm sure there are shortages in some places.
There is no shortage where I live: large metropolitan area.
Do you know anybody who works in an OR? or an ER? Ask them. There are frequent shortages of critical items.

Tsk. A shame!
NO, I don't know a SOUL who works in an OR or ER.
I hate hospitals. They make me queasy.
They are the ill informed if they suggest it cannot come from bush meat. All mammalian viruses exist out there and there is no vet to take care of them...lol. Aids? Yep, that is one of them.
Ebola? Natural reservior is the bat... which they eat. The buggers are huge...9-10 lbs. Go look it up.
