Let's not beat around the bush.
You give to Free Republic.
But you wait....and wait....and in the 2nd month you pull the trigger.
Then you feel better, because when it comes down to it you understand the value of Free Republic.
It is the lone conservative voice out there that gives average Joes like us a voice to combat the BS of the media, the politicians, and the robots.
The election is upon us...3 short months away, give or take a few days. The early days of the campaigns are important days. We all know it.
Obama has gone into attack mode. We need to get this and the next freep-a-thon out of the way quickly, so the shenanigans of the lawless potus can be tracked hour by hour, minute by minute.
Free Republic is famous for its election-time activism and commentary.
Quit putting it off and give.
I’m a novice at that kind of stuff. It probably has merit.
Would it require being a different kind of LLC if you sell stuff? Is there only one kind of LLC?
LOL, good thing I’m not drinking anything-—it would have ended up all over my keyboard!
Just click the link at post number 2 and donate $10. Then take a Magic Marker to an old t-shirt and write "Free Republic" on it. This way the site gets a 100% return, there's no shipping and you get a free t-shirt.
My grandkids are visiting and I’m working a FReepathon! We’re a month into it and only at 31%. I’m truly afraid for FR’s survival. And you wouldn’t believe some of the stupid excuses I get in FReepmail for why people don’t donate.
LOL! You're just an old hippie, aren't you?!
The worst is when you just took a drink to go with a bite of something. Then you have chunks and liquid to clean off that poor, abused keyboard. :>)
Losing Free Republic would be a terrible thing.
There is NOTHING out there to replace it. The FR software is so far the best, that there isn’t a number 2. The next place is probably #10.
Gotta agree with you on that. And it’s not just a forum but an activist rallying site. Some of the newer FReepers don’t get that.
Oy vey, LOL
ping
Donate monthly, I trust Jim with my bank account. Course with what I have in it, it aint worth stealing.
I agree with donating monthly. With enough monthly donors, this freep-a-thon would be over before it started.
I occasionally comment on some article at townhall or different newspapers/blogs. It probably takes me 10 minutes or more to find the comment and see if there’d been any responses. And then you find out with some of them that after a few days they close off comments. And on some of them, the thought police will almost automatically delete conservative thoughts and ideas.
Free Republic is a treasure that shouldn’t easily be given up.
Pfffttt...
Thank Jim and John.
‘I agree with donating monthly. With enough monthly donors, this freep-a-thon would be over before it started.’
All folks have to do is skip 2 Wendy’s triple cheeseburger combos and there is the 20 to send to FR. Your wife will love the new slimmer you, your doc will think you are a hero and so will FR.
Let’s not pick exclusively on Wendy’s. :>)
Make it one Wendy’s triple and one Burger King Double.
Or a 10 wing plate at BDubs with a beer AND a Big Mac combo.
I would say that if you would have to get the govt involved (IRS? State?), then it’s probably not worth doing.
But, I’ll reaffirm that I would pay a premium price for FR branded swag and still keep my recurring donation going too.
Or, to avoid “selling”, perhaps once a year, provide a limited number of “Gifts For Supporters”. So, for $25, get a key fob; $50, get a t-shirt, $250, get a windbreaker — Limited numbers available, only good while supplies last, get em’ while you can! (allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery so they can be drop-shipped from one of those swag sites like cafe-press).
Just an idea - trying to think of ways to drum up donations.
"... Then take a Magic Marker to an old t-shirt and write "Free Republic" on it. ..."HaHa! Do you think JR would mind the site being represented that way?
I like the “gift for a donation” idea. Lots of charities use that idea. The problem again would be workers to track, pack, and ship.
