The truth of the matter is, and maybe this is what you were trying to say, the plane was most deliberately targeted and fired upon and downed - just as the rebels wanted. It just turned out to be the wrong kind of plane. It was deliberately shot down (hence, they DELIBERATELY fired a rocket at it), but it turned out to be the wrong kind of plane than what they anticipated.
