I wonder how many feather boas, pink jackets and floral tights he can buy with that much money.

Too much cost and effort to retry. He did not know he was on the losing end of the 8-2

It sounded like it was in a crowded bar with a whole bunch of other SEALs. Were there no witnesses to corroborate either version of events? There were a lot of eyewitnesses, all of them were drunk, no two of them told the same story.
To: Solson
Its possible a settlement agreement was reached between the parties before the verdict to avoid another trial so the 1.8 Million verdict is non-starter.

Agreeing to a non-unanimous verdict? STUPID, STUPID, STUPID on the defense attorneys’ part. Possible legal malpractice IMHO.

But if that’s what the facts demonstrated ... *shrug*.
Tough to make a call unless you are in the Courtroom. Ventura is quite the loon to be sure, but the jury heard the facts and got the instructions. That’s just the way it goes.

Dumbfounded. How any jury could side with JV is baffling.

I kinda wondered the same thing. They certainly didn’t corroborate his or he would have won the suit. Would have been interested in sitting in on this one.

Absolutely correct. And the Chris Kyle is not even alive to defend himself.

As media awaited the lawyers outside the federal courthouse in St. Paul, Sam Goldsmith, a friend of the Venturas, delivered four medium Dominos pizzas. He said that the Ventura family asked him to order pizzas for reporters, because, You sat diligently here for two weeks. I hope the guys enjoy it.

Wonder if we can sue DU, CNN, MSNBC, NY Slimes for defamation of character? Their lies are not only hurtful to me, but it is broadcast to the world.
I think a few hundred million would suffice. I could buy Jim a new server farm and buy everyone on FR a brand new AR, which will probably be lost in several thousand simultaneous boating accidents.

That was a dumb move by the defense attorney. I’m hoping there was an insurance company involved in this. If not, then maybe the attorney’s E&O carrier will pick up the tab. You don’t do something like this unless you have knowledge to a certainty that the jury is leaning in your direction.
Obviously they weren’t even close on that assumption.
