---SNIP-- Weeks after the disclosure that 68 bins of old mail from veterans had been found at the Philadelphia office - and after VA officials pledged immediate action - it has become clear that its problems surrounding document management run deep.
Last week, at least 84 boxes of mail that had been returned to the Philadelphia VA when it didn't reach its intended recipient were piled up, one employee told The Inquirer. The center's director estimated that the facility's return-mail backlog was 18,000 envelopes deep and had been sitting since March 2012.

How can we bring a lawsuit against them?
The “workers” at the VA should be fired for their dismissive, lousy, anti-VET attitudes. Shameless losers.
Let’s all repeat the VA Motto....
“Delete, Delay, Deny And Hope They Die To Make Our Bonus High!”
Our veterans are literally dying waiting for answers to letters. In the meantime Obama wants nearly 4 BILLLION dollars to feed, house, and provide medical care to a bunch of illegal alien invaders.
Pretty indicative of his attitude towards Americans.
I think most of these letters concern veterans applying for disability. And, yes, they’re hoping they die. If they wanted to truly do the right thing, they’d simply approve every veteran’s request. And there’s a reason why they’re not doing this. Someone up high is responsible for all of it.
The average front line worker is worked to death under great daily pressures in difficult jobs. If the letters are being held up it comes from Management at ALL levels, middle management and up.
Be very careful when you lump all VA ‘workers” together!
And,...IF you do not focus on management you NEVER change the culture and you risk losing very caring professionals, and yes, secretaries. The VA has been understaffed enormously at the FRONT Lines while maanagement scoops up the money for bonuses instead of hiring more doctors, nurses, etc.
