A missionary from Charlotte and a Texas doctor working for Boone-based Samaritans Purse are among the first Americans who have been infected with the deadly Ebola virus while working to combat the outbreak in Liberia.

I’d read on another thread that Brantley may have contracted the virus on a flight? From a business person. Is that even possible? Scary!
It should not be possible unless hmm, it’s just really interesting because I handle bloodborne pathogens all week long and have for 30 plus years.
I am going to go looking and see what I can find about that.
My bets are there being more, which implies it’s airborne to some extent.
Although the afflicted did not themselves request our prayers, we may offer prayers on their behalf.
Clearly, the full mechanism of transfer is not known definitively, may be air-transmitted, and is in any case easier than we have been told.
Sounds like no flight was involved on this one at least.
WHO says the above so mucus membranes adds a new dimension. Droplets landing in the eye or open mouth or nose, and oops. Besides which I think it is probably more highly infectious than HIV, more successful at one exposure leading to disease that is.
I just finished reading a book called the hot zone. It was published in the mid 90s about the origins and outbreaks of Ebola. It described some strains of Ebola could be transmitted airborne.
Seems like a good time for BO to flood the US with Africans under the Mandela program /s

Decontamination procedures can be tough sometimes.
Take off your mask without touching your hair or skin.
Take off your gloves without touching your skin, etc.
Father God,
We stand on Your promises for miraculous healings for these courageous health workers.
PSALM 91
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.
3 Surely he will save you
from the fowlers snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, The Lord is my refuge,
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 Because he[b] loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.
Father God, You say You put your Word above Your name. There is no other God like You. Praise Your name forever and ever.
In Jesus name, by Whose stripes we were healed. Amen.
They got careless or overtired. Easy to understand. I think medical personnel should be rotated out periodically.
And that the “citizens” are mostly illiterate and superstitious tribal based members of societies who frown on anything coming from the “white devils”.
Or are you laboring under the delusion that the USA CDC is somehow “in charge” there?
Yeah, she probably got infected via splash back when she was hosing off the cheap protective suits they are re-using in Liberia.
Spraying sanitizer is not going to work against Ebola virus.
It never has in the past.
No indications to date that it will ever work in the future.
Isolate, and quarantine all those potentially infected.
There is no treatment,and no cure.
Does that clarify the danger?
