John admitted earlier this year that he is still gay and that reparative ex-gay therapy doesn't work

Didn't work for him, he means.

What is gay ?

Sex ?

Or love ?

We have a falsely built a culture that equates lust/sex for love.

Sex is easy for those that really need to be accepted.

Love is a wholly different story.

Sex is can be had on virtually any website or corner.

Our modern culture has no room for love. They don’t think love is even possible.

Personally, I don’t just ever have sex, I make love.

There is a difference.

He might not want to overcome it. That might be his problem. You can’t change unless you’re willing to do so.

"Didn't work for him, he means."

Agree.
Didn't work for him because he didn't want it to work - he enjoys that particular sin - it is now a choice.
Like a heroin addict that stays clean for five years, then makes a choice to buy a bag and get high. Does he have to? No, but he wants to.
