As American officials fire off diplomatic salvos at Russia in response to that nation’s purported actual artillery salvos into Ukraine, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said recently that among other actions, the U.S. military is dusting off decades-old plans, just in case.
“We’re looking inside our own readiness models to look at things that we haven’t had to look at for 20 years, frankly, about basing and lines of communication and sea lanes,” Gen. Martin Dempsey, America’s top military officer, said at the Aspen Security Forum Thursday evening. “What the military does when faced with these crises is – our job is preparedness, deterrence and readiness.”
In addition to its own plans, Dempsey said the U.S. military is having “conversations with our NATO allies about increasing their capability and readiness” and that there’s a “very active” ongoing process and debate about how best to provide support to Ukraine.

There is currently an ongoing or about to occur (not certain which ongoing or about to occur) National Sheriff’s Conference that may call for militarization of our border. Maybe, though yet to be seen in resolution form.
We are in need of some serious housecleaning at all levels of government.
We have some spectacular soldiers but I fear that they are no longer allowed to become spectacular leaders. Instead they’re being driven out of the military at an alarming rate.
I kinda feel like Norman Schwarzkopf was the last true military leader of my lifetime and even he was heavily restricted.

There is a purge going on, no doubt, but I take comfort in knowing these people released aren’t dead. obama wasn’t able to kill them and of this opinion these people that are being purged are still here. Bet that scares those wanting to murder this nation just enough to make them think twice in spite of the promises from our zer0 to come on in and take America down. If I was on the outside looking in I’d be afraid of what could happen if I believed zer0. zer0 has turned tail and ran every time someone stood up to him. You think they aren’t dusting off the old plans and joining all the other NATO nations, and non NATO nations like Sweden and Finland who are doing the same?

So we thought that we defeated Russia, but in reality we are so weak compared to Russia that they just dictate terms to NATO?
Since when did this Russia become so all powerful that our 28 member alliance dare not interfere with their plan for conquest?

Your statement does not apply to this news. This is not a routine scheduled contingency plan to be filed away, they are looking into the files because of our current situation.
Where is the disinformation? This is a reaction, not a routine contingency plan, scheduling coincidence.
I signed up to fight Russia a couple of times, but if we don’t deal with Russian aggression and nip it in the bud, then we will be facing our old enemy again, and in time they will be a real threat, again.
When war comes, it won’t matter what any of us want. We will have no choice.
