Is that newer or older than the recent versions of ARENA? I've heard of it and how it wasn't nearly as effective as expected but have no idea which system is being developed, refined, etc. I know I heard of Drozd being deployed before I heard ARENA was, but don't know the genesis of the two.

Would Drozd not living up to expectations lead to the employment of ARENA instead maybe? Inquiring minds want to know.

Drozd 1 and 2 had numerous problems and had a nasty habit of killing the infantry accompanying the tank. It also couldn’t provide all-aspect protection and wasn’t terribly smart. After it failed in Afghanistan and Chechnya, they developed Arena.
