Yep, feeble minds believe because Perry said he would send people to the border that meant he was stopping the illegals.
Smarter and wiser minds know he is making a show but gave orders not to actually do anything.

That is because federal law prohibits using armed troops.

Perry's staff does not agree with your understanding of Federal Law.

You try apprehending someone on the border.
I would not want the legal fall out.
There are laws that tie the border states hands.
This is exactly why we need a president from a border state in DC if we hope to correct the situation.

If Perry is not up to the demands and challenges of being a leader in this situation, how would he make a Good President?

We are talking apprehension VS being armed.
I am sure Greg Abbott and Rick Perry are more aware of the laws than you or I

What did Obama say about the Guard and Reserves? It’s alluded to but never explained. Anyone know?

If I was president I think the first thing I would do is purge the entire government apparatus of the intelligentsia. Take their text books away and they are freaking idiots.

Occasionally I have to shake hands or be with someone I dislike to the utmost. (makes me want to puke>) But there's a courtesy in business and that tarmac was one of those moments. (Quite unlike the Joisey lovefest.)
I look at the tarmac meeting from Perry's eyes...."Obama's not going to force me to stand down".
OBama is goading Perry. Wait till next week. The Dems want Perry out of the 2016 race.
I expect Hillary to start her dirty against Perry soon.

No, we are talking only about Apprehensions.
Observing is not going to do squat.
But this about par for the course where Rick Perry and Illegal Immigration and Border Issues are concerned.

Isnt that exactly what hes doing? No; AFAIK he's not given any orders to the NG to secure the border*, much less allowing them to use lethal force to do so.
* Note: He could call them up and give them a BS 'observer' type mission.

e) Bushs fault The border situation is, at least a little, Bush's fault (in addition to Obama and the all congresses convened for either of their tenure).
Remember that this is all post-WTC.

He is asking to deploy the TNG on the border even as we speak. Why should he have to ask? Doesn't he have that authority, as governor, per his State's constitution? (see Art 4, Sec 7.)
Or are you admitting that he sees himself as a vassal of DC?

And his staff has already made it clear they are there to observe only. They will not APPREHEND illegals. Ah! there it is!
The BS observer role
mission.
I knew there wouldn't be a real call-up; it would upset his DC masters too much if he were to REALLY address the invasion with the national guard.

You try apprehending someone on the border.
I would not want the legal fall out. Why apprehend? It's an invasion; lethal force is obviously the proper response.
The TX constitution gives the governor the authority to use the national guard to repel invasion — leaving that aside, to assert that the states cannot make such a provision in their constitutions is to assert that the states lack all sovereignty and are merely strictly subservient to the federal government.

....”The Governors have to do something ,because there is no one at home in the White House”......
It’s looking like Perry and Cruz and a few others are ready to lead the charge...perhaps the tipping point is finally arriving! LEt’s hope more Governors speak up and act accordingly...and further support all those who are taking actions!

Big Hair for President! Woo! Woo!So are we going to start with the name calling and hate speech again this election? If you don't like a candidate, argue against issues or positions, especially if it's someone on our side. If you can't do that, don't lower yourself to name-calling and hate rhetoric, that is sooooo liberal behavior.
