Gulf emirate is branded the villain behind Hamas belligerence, with PMs former security adviser saying it funds tunnel diggers and rocket launchers.
President Shimon Peres accused Qatar on Wednesday of becoming the worlds largest funder of terror due to its financial support for Hamas in Gaza.
Qatar does not have the right to send money for rockets and tunnels which are fired at innocent civilians, the outgoing statesman told UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in Jerusalem. Their funding of terror must stop. If they want to build then they should, but they must not be allowed to destroy.
Qatars recently attempted to transfer funds for the salaries of Hamas civil servants in Gaza, following the formation of a Palestinian unity government, but was blocked by the United States, which pressured the Arab Bank not to process them. But former national security adviser Maj. Gen. (res) Yaakov Amidror told The Times of Israel that the emirates funding for the organizations terror apparatus, including tunnel diggers and rocket launchers, has continued unabated.

Israel is shutting down the tunnels and it controls access to Gaza. They’re going to have a problem getting it past the Israelis now that they’ve destroyed the tunnels.
Egypt has also destroyed Hamas tunnels. They really hate Hamas over there and have been working with Israel against Hamas.
I don’t believe they “blocked funds”. We’re else was that reported?
Egypt hates Has because Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood are now one.
The brotherhood still wants the caliphate and they want to run it. More moderate countries reject the brotherhood and their caliphate for two reasons, one, they do not want to live under sharia law, two, they don’t want to share power with the Brotherhood.

The United States will provide $ 47 million (35 million euros) in humanitarian aid to help Palestinians hit by Israel’s campaign in the Gaza Strip, Secretary of State John Kerry pledged Monday.
That is really an excellent list of links, could you please add the McCarthy article to your list. The McCarthy article doesn’t pull any punches in regard to the Obama administration participation in support of Hamas and the Brotherhood.
You confuse humanitarian aid - which the USA sends through UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) ... with support for Hamas, which neither the USA or Israel does.
And criminals exist In Gaza just like they exist in the USA, where they extort and confiscate money and goods here in the USA. What we do here is go after the criminals! And Hamas is certainly criminal, besides terrorists.
The Israeli Ambassador made it clear yesterday that Israel does not have a problem with the Gaza residents, but with Hamas ...
Manor, the Israeli ambassador, vowed that Israel would destroy Hamass military infrastructure.
However, the Gaza residents are not our enemies. Israel is fully committed to international law, he said.
He spoke at the UN Human Rights Council, yesterday, and said that.
Israel lets through all the UNRWA aid, through their checkpoints into Gaza, even though Israel has a total blockade on Gaza. The USA is sending that through UNRWA.
I’m in agreement with Egypt on Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. I believe Egypt did the right thing in deposing the previous Muslim Brotherhood President of Egypt.
In fact, I was the first one on Free Republic posting about the two major blocks Muslim world, fighting over Hamas in Gaza, and that Israel was aligned with the Egyptian block, and that they were both working together against Hamas, which is good news.
And furthermore Egypt wants to remove Hamas from the Gaza side of the border with Egypt and put the Palestinian Authority in there ... which Israel was in agreement with.
You need to read my series of articles on this, for the last several weeks ... :-) ...
See Post #2 ...
I have not heard of the funds being blocked anywhere else.
I was just saying that the funds may not have been blocked, but rather diverted.
