Montana Sen. John Walsh's thesis written to earn a master's degree from the U.S. Army War College contains unattributed passages taken word-for-word from previously published papers.
The Democrat said Wednesday he was on medication and being treated for post-traumatic stress disorder from his service in Iraq when he wrote the paper. He said he also was dealing with the stress of a fellow veteran's recent suicide.
Walsh said he made an unintentional mistake and did not intend to plagiarize.
"I don't want to blame my mistake on PTSD, but I do want to say it may have been a factor," Walsh told The Associated Press. "My head was not in a place very conducive to a classroom and an academic environment."

Sounds like when they caught Joe Biden many years ago, always a sorry excuse.
A shameless, selfish, and slovenly shyster shamelessly shills his sick, sad, and sorry self into sweet, secure sinecure through sinister scholarly shenanigans.
As a general rule, it is usually fairly obvious whether a written submission in college is a purposeful plagiarism or an unintentional omission of a citation. In Walsh’s case, it was clearly purposeful.
The Senator should feel the effects of this, but also the thesis committee of the War College: this was done in 2007, long after Turnitin.com was available, so it would have taken five minutes and a laptop to check the thesis.
bullsh*t .... don’t this fellow voting on anything requiring judgment.
An adorable alliterationist!
Who wants a senator who has such a handy excuse for his character flaws?
We are surrounded by morons...
You got that right.
Lots of people have dealt with the suicide of a friend or family member WITHOUT becoming a cheat and liars. He’s in luck - BECAUSE he’s a democrat the MSM will give him a pass.
Seriously?
Not much of a man.
Even Joe Biden didn’t use that lame excuse.
Replaces the dog ate my homework excuse.
CoughcoughTeddyKennedycoughcoughcough!
‘S’what it says!
At minimum, the Army War College should rescind the postgraduate degree. If he still has any connection with the Montana Guard, that should be ended.
I am so sick of this victim BS from cowards unwilling to admit who they are.
PTSD has been abused.
Real PTSD is traumatic. Real PTSD is when your body, literally reacts to a non existent situation. There are no bombs going off around you, but your body literally reacts as if bombs are going off around you... it is not a momentary lapse in not knowing if you are copying and pasting someone else’s work...
SHAME ON THIS ASS
“Replaces the dog ate my homework excuse.”
Yep, now he’s plagiarizing the IRS.
Thanks!
