IRS Deputy Associate Chief Counsel Thomas Kane said in transcribed congressional testimony that more IRS officials experienced computer crashes, bringing the total number of crash victims to “less than 20,” and also said that the agency does not know if the lost emails are still backed up somewhere.
The new round of computer crash victims includes David Fish, who routinely corresponded with Lois Lerner, as well as Lerner subordinate Andy Megosh, Lerner’s technical adviser Justin Lowe, and Cincinnati-based agent Kimberly Kitchens.
“You stated at the time that document was produced to Congress, the document, the white paper in Exhibit 3[the June 13 memo], that it was accurate to the best of your knowledge. Is it still accurate?,” a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee investigator asked Kane.
“There is an issue as to whether or not there is a ‑‑ that all of the backup recovery tapes were destroyed on the 6‑month retention schedule,” Kane replied.
“So some of those backup tapes may still exist?,” the investigator asked.
“I don’t know whether they are or they aren’t, but it’s an issue that’s being looked at,” Kane said.

Congress needs to demand how many crashes happen in a year and divide taht by the number of computers in the IRS, and then calculate the probability of all these crash being an accident. It’s gotta be over 1 in one million by now.
This is good news. The more people involved, the more likely it will be that Issa will find one who refuses to lie under oath.
Furthermore, the more crashes there are, the less people will be willing to accept anything the administration says about the IRS matter.
I might try that if I happen to have to pay. “The money I was going to use to pay you, just all of the sudden disappeared out of my account!!”.
To the IRS, “What the hell do you mean your computers crashed and lost my income tax files. I have sent them to you on time for the last 20 years and you LOST THEM???????
TOO many coincidences, I would say. That must have been one hungry dog, to have eaten so many hard drives.
Somewhere, it is all backed up. Bring the whole bunch claiming this excuse up on Federal charges of destruction of official records without authorization.
But only after Eric Holder has been tried, convicted, and incarcerated.

I don’t know if the IRS exists?
First - Taxpayers are required to keep records for 7 years, but the IRS only keeps 6 months of records? There is a serious disconnect there.
Second - Mr. Kane doesn't know much about data recovery. If a tape is written over, data forensics can still recover most of the prior information (or they can tell if it was deliberately obliterated).
I will not be satisfied until people are in prison for this.

I guess that’s your hierarchical chart for this little conspiracy. Anybody who’s hard-drive crashed should be hauled in for questioning.
Lets just suppose what they are telling us is true. We all know it’s not, but just for sake of argument we’ll say e-mail was stored on a persons computer, not a server, 20 hard drives crashes and 6 month backup for each. Unless they are saying all 20 crashed at the same time, some of the e-mails would still be available. If the 20 crashed over a period of 6 months, one would assume the 1st was restored around the time the 20th crashed. In other words the info was restored to the first before being lost on the 20th. Yes, some e-mails would be lost, but no way all were lost.
I think the theme is
“fighting back against thuggery is racist”.
That applies to the IRS and to the Trayvon/Zimmerman case.
