July 20, 2014 Why Ukraine Crash Scene May Be of Little Value Now
Eastern Ukraine is the site of the world's largest crime scene, but by Sunday that scene had lost any semblance of integrity, according to CBS News' team on the ground.
When international investigators finally do arrive, it will bear little resemblance to the initial crash site. Emergency workers have been sifting through the charred wreckage of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, which was shot down Thursday by a missile with 298 people on board, tossing items around and trampling through debris and human remains.
On Sunday morning, the site was guarded by the Berkut, the former Ukrainian special police who were officially disbanded after they killed nearly 100 protesters in Kiev but quickly decamped and regrouped in eastern Ukraine and Crimea.
However, after the departure of OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) monitors, who were present at the scene Sunday, the Berkut became less visible. Journalists and residents - really anyone - have been roaming the fields, able to pick up personal effects, pieces of plane debris - evidence - and just walk away with them.
Since when does integrity matter anymore? Only thing that matters is spin and outrage.
Integrity went away like the Constitution.
When one speaks of the “integrity” of a crime scene, one is not speaking of its honesty and morality.
Kind of like the Benghazi consulate after it had been swarmed over by the enemy combatants, the press, and casual passers-by, before the authorities (of any kind) ever got to the scene. This is “contamination” of the site in a most destructive way, making any actual forensic study practically impossible.
Which provides plenty of room for a S.W.A.G (Scientific Wild (Eyed) Guess).
I suspect not a single recovered body will have jewelry when delivered to the families. Gold fillings will likely be missing as well.
Sorry rude person. Integrity is the same in both, but I understand why you wouldn’t know that.
Lot's of faux outrage and doing business as usual.
Ok, forest person. Please explain the morality (or lack thereof) of the crash site. Did it steal from you? Maybe lie to your mother?
“Integrity” of a crash site is not the same as personal integrity. You are confusing two definitions of the same word.
With Caliph Baraq in charge, what value would a perfect investigation have?
A crime scene can be tainted by externals, so can people, that is why they call it integrity of the crime scene.
Go play is your nasty sandbox. You bore me with your boorish behavior.
This crime scene has been tainted as many are. Depends on who taints it with purpose or it is tainted by something natural, or unintended, that taints it.
Sorry, buddy. Words mean things . . . despite what you say. Amateur.
What is there to investigate? We know the cause of the crash, the type of missile, who fired it, the identity of the passengers and how they died, where the plane landed, the black boxes recovered, etc. Other than returning the bodies to their families, what else do we need to learn?

The word applies to both and basically means the same.
In light of the recent Malaysia Airlines tragedies (one missing, one brought down by the Russians) I completed a project I began some time ago to remind us of an earlier Russian involved murder of hundreds of innocents. Will someone please remind obozo that it’s still a jungle out there!

Let me guess, you will next regale us with the dictionary definition of "basically." /s
You are just being stubborn. I give up.
isn’t that old news? what does it matter now? (sarcasm)
Russian soldiers under his command launched that rocket; the rebels are a bunch of drunks who could never operate such equipment.
The thugs then looted all of the dead bodies of gold, jewelry and valuables. Disgusting.
Then of course, there is the enabler in chief...
