The families of some of the 10 British victims of flight MH17 angrily accused Russian gangsters of killing their loved ones in an act of war, as evidence mounted that a missile supplied by Moscow brought down the Malaysia Airlines flight.
Grieving relations also demanded that the airline and the aviation authorities explain why the Boeing 777, with 298 people on board, was allowed to fly over a war zone where three military aircraft had been shot down in the previous four days.
Among the Britons killed in Thursdays disaster in Ukraine were two undergraduates on their way to Australia, two Newcastle United fans travelling to watch the team play in New Zealand, a United Nations worker and a former RAF technician.
Ukraine said 80 children died, including three babies, together with around 100 experts in HIV/Aids who were on their way to a conference in Melbourne.
President Barack Obama said yesterday that he was certain that MH17 had been shot down by a surface-to-air missile fired by Russian-backed separatists.

The Putin Pukes should be thrilled to know that his popularity is soaring in Russia.
Hahhhh — I laugh
Your comrades are looting the very victims that they
killed denying them a decent burial — and you have the audacity to lecture me about etiquette.
I think most of them are on the FSB/GRU payroll and get paid by the post. And judging by the way that some of them express themselves and their grammar, it’s not hard to see that their native tongue is Russian.
It would have to be a lot of money to get me to post love letters about Putin.
That’s from the same population that has 50% still idolizing Joseph Vissarionovich Djugashvili, aka Stalin. so the little dictator is a perfect fit for the inhabitants of the territory called the Russian Federation.
But then again, you most likely don’t crave vodka every night.
You’re right about that. I don’t.
Parroting Kiev Junta's line will burn your credibility in the long run.
Kiev Junta refuses an international investigation and has tampered with evidence already.
Your calling the legally elected Ukraine govt ‘Kiev Junta’ is a dead giveaway where your from. tata!
Read today 40% of Russians in Russia (that would be the ones not invading other countries right now or home on leave from killing and pillaging) want a larger invasion of Ukraine to go ahead. It is a Russian poll so maybe it cannot be believed, but still Russians are NUTS!
I am on way out...later.
I don’t see the “Kiev Junta” standing in the way of the OSCE and an independent international investigation.
Do You???
As a matter of fact they have called for one even though Donetsk is still Ukraine territory.
But I do see the Russian Donetskian s standing in the way and refusing the OSCE access and making off with evidence.
Don’t you???
That tells me quite a bit right there.
BTW tell the Russian rebels to bring back the 38 bodies that they took.
Since when is the coup called "legally elected"? "Our man Yats" and his neo-Nazi thugs are Junta installed and supported by the U.S. of A.
It is known fact.
It's called legally elected when after an air crash, the "Kiev Junta" sends in emergency workers to do the hard work of bagging and identifying the remains of the dead, while your thug junta sends in its obfuscators, prefabricators, and looters to desecrate them.
BTW tell your cossacks to bring the 38 bodies back.
Yatsenyuk is not the president of Ukraine. President Poroshenko was elected receiving 55% of the vote in a single round with 60% percent voter participation. Yatsenyuk was interim PM, and has since been appointed PM by Poroshenko. Yatsenyuk is also an elected member of the Ukrainian parliament.
In contrast, the murdering thugs installed by Putin in the Donbas were elected by no one. Indeed, they are not even Ukrainian citizens. They are Russian citizens and GRU and FSB operatives who work for and are completely controlled by the Russian government.
So they only needed to shoot down an airliner to gain legitimacy ? Wow, stellar statement, indeed.
I agree. While there's no doubt Putin is at the very least giving moral support to the separatists, it's highly unlikely he ordered this plane shot down, an act of violence that has pretty much turned the entire world against the rebels.
My belief is that this was the work of separatists using a BUK that was seized from a Ukrainian military depot in Donetsk this past June, that they honestly thought they were shooting a cargo plane and most likely were either too poorly trained, stupid, drunk or all three to properly identify their target.
As someone having more FR experience than you, a piece of advice: Don't come on here shilling for ex-KGB totalitarians like Putin and making wild claims that are easily refuted by the "rebels" own twitter posts, then get upset when someone calls you on it. Parroting Russian/GRU propaganda will burn your credibility now... forget the long run.
~Churkin. Interesting name. The word churka in Russian means wood chip or some one who isnt important, a nobody.~
In fact churka as applied to a human being means an Arab, Central Asian or Caucasus native. An ethnic Muslim in short. No other meaning. It is a huge N-word and considered racist. I think it is rarely used even for a wood chip anymore.
So called terrorists do not have such radar. Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaliy Yarema is on record saying the rebels do not have Buk or S 300
However, Ukraine army has Kupola and 21 launchers in the vicinity of crash site, brought in the theatre several days ago, for unknown reason ("terrorists" do not have any fixed wing aircraft.)
So, for the sake of discussion, how SA-17 can shoot down an airplane travelling 600 knots at 33,000ft without radar?
If it can not, the question is - who had the operational radar illuminating the target?
