I would look to the contemporaneous accounts of the people claiming that they did it, myself.
The guy pulling the trigger may not even truly know who he was working for
“Yeah. I wonder if we’ll ever know for sure which side shot down that plane.”
...and if you look out the left side, you’ll see an exchange of mortar fire and tank rounds.
To be honest, I don’t really care which side took out the plane - I’m more interested in knowing why it was flying directly over a WAR ZONE where military planes had been shot down, and whether that practice will continue in the future.
