The huge difference is that Pres. Reagan canceled his CA vacation and went back to Washington after the Korean shoot down, giving one of his most memorable speeches to the nation. Now, we have a dunce as president who gives this shoot down 40 seconds at a mediocre photo op and goes on telling jokes. It makes all the difference in the world.
And we, the American people still haven’t been told how many Americans died yesterday, when all the other countries have released information about their citizens. Is our NSA too busy spying on a grandmother’s cell phone calls in Omaha to report on what happened? Or is this information being embargoed so it doesn’t look so bad to have the president fundraising instead of taking care of business?
I am tempted to assume there were American dead, given they haven’t said there weren’t. It is very unusual to not have the info yet, unless they are covering it up until Valerie Jarrett decides what to do.
