In his message to the Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development, Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide.
Francis proclaimed, Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.
Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for the tens of thousands of children who migrate alone, unaccompanied, to escape poverty and violence. He further sympathized, saying that this is a category of migrants who cross the border with the United States under extreme conditions and in pursuit of a hope that in most cases turns out to be vain." The Pope added that the amount of those willing to take the dangerous journey are increasing day by day."
The Argentinean pontiff claims that the illegal immigrants are forced to emigrate, suffer, and often, die tragically; many of their rights are violated, they are obliged to separate from their families and, unfortunately, continue to be the subject of racist and xenophobic attitudes.
Finally, the Pope called for everyone to have a new outlook toward migrants and refugees and that we should discard previous conceptions of defensiveness and fear, indifference and marginalization. Moreover, the world should transform itself from a throwaway culture to a culture "capable of building a better, more just and fraternal world."

As a cradle Catholic, I grit my teeth at such idiotic pronouncements and console myself with the observation that popes are mortal.
I'm Catholic, but this is what it feels like.
So are you saying that following what the Bible says is being a hypocrite? That what it sounds like to me.
Even Pope Francis would laugh at this.
**Frances** That’s a girls name. LOL!
So are you saying that Obama has nothing to answer for here? I beg to differ.
My thinking had not changed. I believe we can treat illegal immigrants in a humane manner without having to compromise our laws. The thing that really annoys me about the debate is that somehow the crisis of illegal immigration hasbecome the U.S. baby.
Hey Central American and Mexico how about reviewing your government policy and massive corruption and economic stagnation that leads to people coming over our border in droves? How about getting serious about the cartels? How about addressing the soul sucking poverty so prevalent in your countries? The U.S. can no longer be the world’s policeman nor can it be the world’s safety net.
Yeah, what you said.....?

Send them to Vatican City!
” am Catholic...”
Well, if that’s the case, you need to consider taking back your religion from guys like your current Pope. He’s been brought in from basically an Marxist country, so it isn’t surprising he takes these kinds of positions that are contrary to our laws.
Okay. Consider it done.
Spend 45 seconds to fine out WHY YOU’RE RIGHT....

Yep. Export Capitalism and the American work ethic (what’s left of it). It’s the only way a “rising tide” will raise all of those “ships” in the harbors where they are anchored.

Can we send that guy to Washington to do that demonstration in front of Congress while 0, Jarrett, Pelosi, and Reid watch? With industrial grade bulletproof shield surrounding him of course?
Can it, Francis.
“So are you saying that following what the Bible says is being a hypocrite?”
Salvation, it is Francis who is not following the Bible. As I had previously posted on this very thread:
Imagine what his long term goal for the United States is.
It appears to be the same long term goal that Obama has. But heres the difference. Obamas playbook is Rules for Radicals, which was dedicated to Satan. Therefore Obama is not constrained by the Golden Rule.
Francis should be so constrained. So unless he really, really wants Vatican City to be hit with wave after wave of illegals, which he would then take in & permanently care for, he is violating one of Christianitys foundational commands.
Tea, it’s whats for thinking caps.
‘So are you saying that Obama has nothing to answer for here?’
If you see a thread about Obama’s culpability in the immigration crisis, let me know. This thread is about something else entirely. It is about Francis hypocritically lecturing the US to do something he hasn’t lifted his littlest finger to do. If he wants us to take in more than the tens of millions of illegal aliens we already have living in our midst, he needs to take in a paltry few hundred, at a minimum, at Vatican City.
The members of the Pope’s church denomination voted for Obama.
