Veteran Michael Sulsona had been waiting on a new wheelchair from the VA for years.
But as with so many vets suffering under scandalous conditions in the VA system, he got nowhere. His wheelchair was rickety and always seemed on the verge of collapse. Then one day it did exactly that-- right when he was shopping in a Staten Island-area Lowe's. But what happened next
Thats when three strangers stepped right in to help him. Sulsona wrote this letter to the Staten Island Advance to share the story and express his gratitude...

Great story. BUT, it should infuriate us all, knowing that a Veteran, who lost limbs in a war is not entitled to a free top drawer wheelchair. IT IS THE PEOPLES MONEY, and I don’t know of anyone who would not want this vet provided with the best. To see a vet riding around in a rickety wheelchair that falls apart makes me sick.
To think, at Home Depot, he would probably have had it stolen by a disgruntled lesbian.
Liberals don't; they think it serves him right for fighting those poor third world victims.
Has Lowe’s fired the employees yet? Oh, wait, I’m thinking about Home Despot.
Good on Lowe’s for loving on our Veterans!
Yep.
We see all that money the government wastes, yet we can't even afford a stupid decent wheelchair for a disabled vet? Pathetic.
No kidding. A Democrat business. LGBTQ Friendly to the Max. Others need not apply.
I cringe when I see all of the ads on TV for helping the vets. Not that I dont want to help the vets—rather it sickens me that we have to rely on third parties to pick up the slack. If a vet is truly disabled, then there should be no question that they get what they need. They should get treatment, they should get their homes renovated, they should receive compensation for not being 100% fit when they are discharged.
I do not understand why we kiss the stinking, diseased asses of Honduran kids—but we cannot spend that same money on our vets.
So many conflicting emotions with this story.
God bless this vet, and these young men who apparently haven’t had all the sense “educated” out of them.
Saw this on FaceBook and was moved...good for those employees.
But he’ll bells, this is a perfect example of how the govt is NOT the answer for healthcare, housing, blah, blah, blah.
Our ONLY responsibility is to those who defend us and their retirement, especially if wounded in the line of duty.
From now on these guys are real heroes too.
made me have tears then rage...this Obama can spend millions traveling all over the world, gives his campaign donors half a billion for green energy but veterans like this have to wait years for a top notch wheelchair..I’m pissed off!
Here’s one of the worst things you’ll read - (from a liberal):
From the link: “Its people like you and your soldier who are destructing our country, shame on you b****! Youre lucky I didnt slash your damn tires!!”
Disgraceful that the government would let a wounded warrior like this gentleman live like a dog with a rickety wheelchair which could have collapsed while he was crossing a street, but they have LOTS of money to send to Palestinian terrorists, and hand out underwear, free education and free medical care and free housing to a bunch of diseased illiterate felonious vermin crossing our border. Absolutely disgusting.
Be interesting to see what major leftist newspapers failed to cover this story. I guess it would make government look even worse, if that’s possible.
Hundreds of billions to subsidize illegal aliens over the past decade alone...Then reading stories like this about Americans who genuinely need help, make me want to spit lightening bolts...
Great story!
“Great story. BUT, it should infuriate us all, knowing that a Veteran, who lost limbs in a war is not entitled to a free top drawer wheelchair”
You didn’t get the memo, Toe... Obama and the GOPe need that money to give free stuff to illegal aliens.
