Here is my personal “scientific” answer:
When God created Adam and Eve, their DNA was PERFECT. 100% perfect -— no bad genes, no defects, no anything that could or would go wrong. And they were protected within Eden from any outside sources of genetic contamination or deterioration -— no radiation, no viruses, no toxins.
It took time for the genetic alterations and defects to build up within the populations to a noticeable level, and before genetic problems started to be seen. This is why there were no prohibitions against marrying close relatives until the law of Moses, and no genetically diseases caused by those early marriages.
Once driven out of Eden, all those negative things and many others began to work on that perfect DNA and corrupted it -— “death” came into the world.
And with each successive genetic defect, lifespans decreased, and inherited disorders increased.
It makes perfect scientific sense when you think about it.
It sounds like one possible principle at work.
I’ll be curious to see comments regarding your post. I found your thoughts interesting.
I like your response - it does make perfect sense. The efforts to save us from disease and pestilence mean there will be the survival of the Unfittest, too. That’s fine by me as I like living more than preserving a long life span...selfish woman that I am...
Real scientists have found bones in the middle east that are both 9,000 years old and which bear traces of tuberculosis.
When you add in a bunch of facts, what seems to make perfect scientific sense can suddenly appear to be less so.
That makes sense. I would attribute rare examples of sheer prodigy to pockets of residual genetic excellence. Adam and Eve’s genetic makeup had to be incredibly rich in terms of both mental and physical stamina. Science today can hardly comprehend the extent of human intellect. But then 1/6 of the population voted for Obama, so there is certainly a downside as well.
maybe something in that forbidden fruit altered their perfect DNA - there was a reason it was forbidden. Lots of questions I’ll find out the answers to one day, for sure ! beyond what I can surmise with my limited information. I know I will probably be surprised by the “rest of the story” as it relates to the ideas I’ve hung on to so closely.

I agree with your thoughts. God created Adam & Eve perfect. When they sinned God’s perfect creation was disrupted.
It is interesting to note that the first recorded death in the Bible is that of an animal that God slayed for the skins to cover for their sinfulness (Genesis 3:21). Ken Ham speculates that this animal could have been a lamb, a foreshadowing of the slaying of Jesus, the perfect Lamb whose sacrifice is totally sufficient to cover for ALL of our sins.
Ever since sin entered in, God’s creation has been deteriorating - both our DNA and every aspect of our environment. So while man continues to accumulate knowledge we perceive mankind as becoming more intelligent. Obviously accumulated knowledge is not the same as “more intelligent”, in fact, I believe that mankind is becoming less intelligent over time with the accumulation of DNA flaws. Evolution theists believe just the opposite is happening and that mankind is continuing to evolve to a higher level. Where is the evidence?
It’s also interesting to note that the first recorded cloning was of Dolly (again, a sheep). Dolly was cloned from existing DNA, developed arthritis at 4 years old and subsequently died of “old age” at 6.5 years old, about half the normal life expectancy of sheep. It might appear that there is some sort of limit on the lifespan of DNA itself based upon the deteriorated condition of DNA.
