Israeli ground troops entered northern Gaza tonight to take out a number of missile launch sites, according to the Israeli military.
The move comes after weeks of growing tensions and nearly a week of escalating missile strikes from both sides.
The mission was launched early Sunday local time comes after the UN Security Council urged the two sides to reach a cease fire, and the Israeli government said it hit northern Gaza "with great force" to prevent more Hamas rocket attacks.
The IDF, the Israeli military, said its goal in crossing into northern Gaza was to dismantle some of the sites that Hamas militants have been using to launch rockets into northern Israel

Here ya go.
Good for Israel, they need to do everything they can to stop Hamas’ ability to fire rockets into their country
ping
this is what the "new gaza" should look like
Take out the rocket sites? ROFLMAO! This is like the war on terrorism. Since when did attacking a tactic of war win a war?
The only way you can truly win is to name the enemy and then take him out.
So don’t worry. The Palies will just make more rockets and launch them again.

Why just some?
What in the world is it going to take for civilized society to realize Islam is incompatible with civilization and must be utterly destroyed.
It truly scares me to think about it.
Godspeed to the Israeli troops on the ground.
I support Israel.
Question is who is the enemy? Is it Hamas? Is it Iran? Is it the rest of the Arab and Muslim world... or is it the whole world, especially the western world?
Unfortunately with Obama in the white house Israel finds itself quite alone. What are it’s options and what are the consequences of each option?
While some here are questioning Israel’s actions re: Hamas and Gaza, a reasonable background can be read over at PJ Media:
David Goldman (AKA Spengler) believes the actions by Hamas are designed to encourage funding, and Israel’s response is still somewhat constrained by U.S. and EU pressure.
I will guess that this immediate action is signalling the U.S., EU, and therefore also the UN that Israel will be constrained only so far. They will not be cowed into any ridiculous “cease fire.”
Israel will have no choice but to take it back.
ABC news isn’t too biased with their reporting by siding with the Terrorists, are they?
First they can start with the Palies in Gaza. At least 75% there approve of the Muzzie terrorism inflicted upon Israel. Time to drive them into Egypt or forcibly send them to Jordan (aka east Palestine).
They don’t want innocents killed so Israel is risking their troops lives to go in and take out these sites that they could easily and safely remove with air-strikes. They will get zero credit for doing so.
Yeah, buddy! Thanks, guys!
To be honest I don’t care what goes on over there. Just don’t involve the USA either in war or our treasure in the ME. They need to work out their own perpetual problems, and we in America need to work out ours like securing our borders. We need to put our country first and back to what we once were before we were foolishly convinced to engage in an extended ME democracy building involvement.
Thanks Jet Jaguar.
Egypt doesn’t want them. It had it’s brief experience with radical Islam, saw tourism and it’s economy collapse, and then rounded up and exterminated the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood.
And did the world say anything about it? NO!
